I would think you could plug in anything that had an 1/8th inch jack...
That would be cool for DVD's playing off the laptop. Just get an 1/8th inch jack cable, plug it into the output on the laptop and plug the other end into the aux jack...

buy a power inverter that plugs into the aux outlet. then u can plug in the laptop's (or any electronic device's) ac adapter into the power inverter. i have my xbox running in my car with it.
go to fry's or radio shack. make sure you buy one that has enough amp power to power your laptop.

also would be nice for the 23+ gigs of music i have on my laptop. ipods are great, but it would be easier to organize/find the song you want straight off itunes. would the sound quality be as good you think? Also do they make car chargers for IBMs?

But honestly, I really think this would be more of a hassle then anything. For road trips, fine, but if your going to do this on a daily basis do you really want to leave your laptop in your car? And if you dont, you would have to go through the hassle of taking it out, plugging it in, powering it up, opening the app...Then do the reverse everytime you stop to put it away?
Not really worth it...

Now if you mount a laptop in your trunk and make it a bit more heat resistant, then you could wifi music updates to it. Then you could mount a small lcd in the front (or wire in the nav panel if possible) and use a bluetooth mouse to control the 'puter in the trunk. That wouldn't be half bad and a bit more secure than having something sitting on your passenger seat.
Summer time heat would be my biggest concern with leaving a computer in the car.

I just did a search on google and they make DC adapters for laptops so you can power your laptop straight out of the cigarette lighter. if someone had the knowhow to fabricate some sort of mount for a laptop somewhere it would be real cool, or maybe one could just put it on the passenger seat/make the passenger control the laptop while they are in the car. This would certainly be a lot cheaper and easier then cusetsx's idea, however will definitly be a lot more clumsy. My only question is how good would the sound quality actually be?

Two words.... car accident. You don't want a $1k-2K laptop loose in your car, it'll fly like a bird.
Heck even an emergency manuver could cause it to toss.
Sound quality? Well 1 it would depend on the sound card capabilities of the laptop. 2 it should sound the same quality as plugging anything into that jack. No worse no better.
If heat wasn't an issue you could mount it under a seat. The air just gets superheated in there in the summer. The trunk isn't an icebox either but it's a little better.

A laptop is a decent idea, but it's not very pratical for everyday use. Takes awhile to boot up and it's a very expensive thing to always leave in the car.
Although for long trips it would be great. You can get the new Griffin AirUSB to control iTunes:

They just released an Ipod one for the dock connector too:

any way you think it would be possible to make a laptop mount that folds/pulls out of the glove box? One of the kids on my hockey team is studying to become a shop teacher so I figured if it could be done he would be able to do it, not to mention this would be a lot cheaper then the 270 they want for that jotto desk? Thanks for all the help guys

I called the company and they said the Accord model is not compatible with the TSX, only the TL, but they sent me to another website http://www.handymountproducts.com/ who should have a Civic model on their website shortly. This website also appears to be a little cheaper
