Welcome to the forums.

I moved your thread to the 1G TSX Forum, which is more specific to your car.

Congrats on the new car! You're going to love it!

Yes the 04's have been known to have more trouble but that doesn't apply to everyone.... I've had my car since Nov. 2008 and I've had ZERO issues. Regular maintenance and that's it... I've always thought of it this way, you take care of your car, and it will take care of you.... Hopefully you will have the same luck that I've had over the past two years.... I'm loving my car and I know you will too.

My first TSX was an '04 6MT Vin #000169. A pretty sound car - only issue was the radio control panel lights. All else was golden. I traded it in '06 (had 74000 miles on the odo) for my then '06 RL. Enjoy your car and I would suggest getting it fresh fluids so you have a benchmark for future maintenance.

WoW, thanks would you recommend a tranny flush? and fuel injector flush, engine flush?

All at the same time?

Here’s a challenge for Simba:
Try to go at least a month without posting a message that amounts to “every ’04 is a ticking time bomb.” (To do it in response to a new owner’s expression of excitement about his purchase ... c’mon!) The owners of ’04s whose cars have been basically trouble-free would be especially delighted. At this point, if I DID have a problem, I wouldn’t post about it, just to avoid inducing a more-of-the-same response from Simba.
To TORONTOTSX4ME: Best of luck with the car. Hope you enjoy your ’04 as much as I’ve enjoyed mine for the past seven years and 98,000 miles.

Point well taken and evidently someone's been paying attention. Your intent to chastise has been successful and I will make every effort to be less of a grumpy old man in the future (no guarantees though!). I will admit that, though my occasional comments could conceivably be interrupted as mean spirited, they are never so. It's just that sometimes, well, it's like shooting fish in a barrel and I can't resist. I guess I do have boundary issues.....

I highly recommend HOEN. True white (no bluish ricer look) just like the one's that come stock on Lexus'.

Simba could send in a post how to long division and I'd still read it thanks to his Marisa avatar...

I've been pretty happy with my LEDs from autolumination.com.
