Just picked up my new 05 TSX...
carbon/ebony non-Nav AT a couple weeks ago and love it! I had a lemon of Saab 9-5 previously and was tired of spending all my time in the shop. It was cool driving a Euro-lux for a while, but a few trips to $aab $ervice and I was ready to go back to Japanese engineering. Two of the best cars I've owned were a '90 Nissan 240 and a '94 Infiniti G20. I wanted a reliable car, but one with some class. I drove a Maxima (too big -- sure it was REALLY fast, but in a few seconds you're up to speed then the car is back to feeling too big), a used 04 TL (also felt too big), a IS300 (interior was too flashy for me, NO trunk space and pricey) and looked at the Madza 6 (felt like a step down in class, and sure looked like a Ford V6, so I didn't bother driving it). The TSX by far was the best fit. Firm but comfortable ride, most of the luxury features I was use to (darn non seat memory!) and WAY better cup holders than all the european contenders -- front and back as well! Sure its not as quick as my old V6 turbo or my wife's Saab 9-3, but it feels quite capable off the line and passing. The TSX also handles great -- similar to my old Infiniti from what I remember. It feels very refined and the best thing is it runs flawlessly -- I find that is more important than a 0-60 time around these 35mph zones.
Now I need to make the car mine... I just ordered a Comptech sway bar which will be here next week. The Abbott Racing version on my wife's 9-3 did wonders and I'm hoping for the same. Next is to tint the windows and look into audio upgrades (I have a Sony 50 x 4 amp collecting dust).... better stop there for now!
