The ergonomics of the TSX are one of the main reasons that i am selling it.
I am only 5'0", so I can't speak for most, but I find the seats very uncomfortable,
They are too big, I slide all over the place in them,
the seat bolster gets in the way when I shift,
and the material is very cheap feeling,
especially the side bolsters which are vinyl.
The 3 series has real leather (although it is an option),
which feels much more luxurious,
and the sport package includes power adjustable bolsters,
which are great for me since I am small,
I can adjust them so they fit snug and I don't slide.
As far as the layout of the TSX,
I find it to be very functional,
I don't have the navi, and I like the simplicity without it,
everything is well laid out and visually appealing.
The same things can be said for the BMW,
with the addition that I feel it is much cozier,
and more luxurious as far as build quality and interior materials.

It looks really great, I would love to hear some more comparisons with the TSX, for example on how you like the interior ergonomics, dash, etc.
PS. About people being afraid of the 318 making it to Canada and cheapening the new 3-series body, don't worry, we already have the 323i - 174 hp, 16" steel wheels (well, they look like steel)
It's the same MSRP as the TSX with less power and a fraction of the features, you'd have to be nuts to pick that over a TSX.

Triton and Nikki, I love your new ride!!! The new 330 is indeed very nice! Congratulations on your new purchase. If I were in the market for a car right now, the 330 is definitely on my list of possibilities too!
You're so much smarter for getting the 330 than that ridiculously priced and not as attractive/prestigious IS350......

The IS350 I believe is cheaper,
but it doesn't come in a manual tranny.

Looks good Nikki
There is just something about the new 3-series that I don't like, can't put my finger on it. I'm sure it an amazing car, I just can't get past the styling.
Anyway, congrats

there is a lot of traffic here, but here's what I've noticed:
It's definitely faster, sportier, and more fun to drive.
It actually has power below 5k rpm!
It feels much smoother,
It doesn't feel boggy and then all of a sudden,
have a huge burst of power, like the TSX,
it has a more even powerband.
I can actually keep it in second gear in my parking garage,
without it feeling like it's going to stall when I slow down around corners.
It sticks the turns nice, really solid,
I feel much more in control,
and when I come out of the turn,
it straightens out nicely, because of the rwd.
The shifter doesn't seem as smooth,
but that may be because it's my first German tranny,
so I don't know how to drive it as well yet,
it certainly beats the TSX's mechanical notchy sound,
I hate how the TSX shifts so smooth, yet sounds so clunky.
One thing I need to get used to real fast,
is that the gauges are reversed-
speedometer on the left, rpms on the right!
I've never had a car like that,
and it's really messing me up lol.
The steering wheel is thick and grippy,
unlike the slippery TSX wheel.
The seats have adjustable bolsters,
so I am not falling around when I take corners.
I don't like the shift knob though,
it's an odd triangular shape,
I'll have to get used to holding it differently.
It sounds incredible,
the exhaust note is so deep,
not whiny like the Japanese cars,
and when you start it,
it revs up to about 2k,
sounds great.
It has changed the way I drive,
before I used to just stay in whatever lane I needed to turn in,
now I actually pass cars when they're going real slow,
instead of saying "oh well", i don't feel like passing,
my driving is much more spirited,
like it used to be when I had my Integra,
not dangerous, weaving, or speeding,
just not boring like it used to be.

Hey To a moderator here, I'm about to post a bunch of interior/exterior shots this weekend if the weather holds up, should I post it as part of this threat or start a new one?

I think a new one would be great.
But don't be surprised if I ban you out of jealousy

For those that don't know Came from a 2005 NBP 6MT TSX, was going to upgrade to an '06 CG 6MT TSX but ended up getting the Bimmer below. I'd say the stick is still better feeling on the tsx, but shifters better on the 330i if that makes sense. Also prefer XM over Sirius, but obviously over all better.

Toyota probably wanted the IS to be their bread and butter car just like the 3 series is for BMW. They could have succeeded if they were less greedy... sigh....

18" wheels with summer tires.
That is so lame, with the BMW you get wheels, tires, suspension, seats, steering wheel.
And the only options are things like:
cargo net, wheel locks, all season floor mats.
So basically you just get the car the way it is.
With the optional wheel package it is $36,750
So it is cheaper, it just sucks because you can't make it your own,
You just get what you get, and that's it,
that's how a lot of Japanese cars are, cough cough TSX cough cough.
