JDM Ebay foglights on Euro R lip success!

Saved myself 75$ from buying the housing
Ref: Looks just like this, for 75$!?!? I said **** that.

After 15 minutes of dremeling, the ebay jdm fog light housing fits perfect, even the screw hole is an exact fitment.

**NOTE** THIS WAS A TRIAL RUN ON MY BROKEN SET, BEFORE I WORK ON THE UNBROKEN SET THAT's ON THE CAR RIGHT NOW

Also, the ebay jdm fogs do not come with the cut lines like the real jdm ones do. so you have to figure it out.
just thought id throw this out there for those of you who want to save some $!

I also added a weatherstripping on the bottom side of the lip to avoid a little bit of scraping

guess what, I just ordered the euro r kit too but my problem now is, can I do this to the OEM fogs too? cuz they don't go in like the ebay jdm fogs... or is it possible to buy that euro R fog light cover and just put my oem fogs into that? or do I need to get the euro r fogs too?

Even though the OEM's don't flare in like the jdm ones, i THINK it should still work, The tab that inserts into the side, and the screw alines the same, and that is what holes the fog light in place. Don't take my word for granted since I never tried, but IMHO, i'm 80-90% sure it will work.

You could always give it a shot, and if it doesnt work.. THEN buy the euro bezel (75$ i believe?). It could save you some money. Doesn't hurt to try, the only downside is if it doesn't fit, you'll have a oem housing with holes it in... which you wouldn't be using anyway since you'll be buying the euro bezel.

I guess I forgot to post the after effect on this site. That weather strip came off after like 2-3 scrapes lol, if theres a better way to attach it more securely that can handle scrapes, it'd be perfect.

Oh ok, so the euro r lip doesn't actually go into that flare right? because I thought part of the lip goes into the flare.

But if I have to buy the euro r housing, I can put my oem fogs into that? or would I need to buy euro r fogs too?

The euro R lip doesnt go into the housing but theres ... studs (? dunno the right term for it) ... plastic things that stick out, which goes through the holes the i cut to hold it in place. The hole on the euro lip only goes over the O part (just around the lens). That is the only contact the euro lip has in contact with the housing, aside from the 3 holes.

I can't answer your second question.

Oh I get what you mean so you're probabaly right about me doing what you did, it's just that the studs will go though the oem housing eariler then if I had the jdm ebay fogs. So I guess I can just do what you did and hope I don't destroy my oem fogs hahaha, Thanks!
