Interior plastic on door scratched
Well, this is my wife's car and she is really in love with it. She discovered that she scratched the metal looking plastic on the driver side door above the arm rest. Does anyone know of what can be used to 'polish' out the scratch without damaging the plastic trim?

Any ideas?

You could try replacing it instead of fixing it. If you go to your dealer and point out the piece, theyll be able to order a new one for you. Since its a small plastic piece, it shouldnt be too expensive. I think those plastic pieces snap on/off as well, so you could do the labor yourself.

do NOT go to the dealer for replacement:
order it yourself... here is the link:

it's number 22 or 28, for passanger or driver.
seems like $82.92... ouch.
Trust me on this one. The dealer would be very expensive.
Did it scratch the paint off?

I'm still looking for a way to remove light scratches on my Quartz interior plastic pieces (gray). I'd use plastx, but it says it's only good for clear plastic pieces. Could I use really low grit sandpaper? Or will that just make a bigger mess on the plastic? The interior plastic scratches surprisingly easily, and I haven't found a way to minimize the scratch without making it lighter than the rest of the surrounding plastic.
