Injen CAI with MR on a EuroAccord with K20Z
I'm looking to buy the Injen CAI with "MR technology" (part# SP1431P), but am not sure if it'll be the right way to go as I have a 06 EuroAccord with the 2.0L engine (K20Z2). Now I'm pretty sure the part will fit, just not too sure about the 'MR" bit. What does that exactly do ? Is it something I can/need to leave out ?
I know Injen also has a CAI without MR under part# RD1430P, but I can get a decent deal on the first part (SP1431P)... (meaning a good shipping to the Netherlands price... that always seems to kill it for me).

I Quit
To my knowledge, MR is just a marketing term really and has no significance other than it supposedly went under some more R&D for better flow? But I don't think it will be bad for the car.

Injen claims that the MR intake was designed and tuned to have the proper air/fuel ratio.
Since you have a different engine, the a/f ratio could end up not being ideal. It's hard too really tell actually unless you have an a/f gauge or read it from the ECU. I have not idea what type of effect it would have.

Yeah, I read that on their website... I don't really know either... I sent the question to Injen USA, but instead of getting an anwser I was refered to the european branch of Injen. I forwarded it to them, but no anwser yet...
Anybody have an idea how the MR bit works ? Is it just the way the intake is shaped/polished ?

MR means the diameter and bends of the intake was designed with the k24a2 in mind. In the older RD, the diameter was based off the intake for the k20a2. Just go for the SP since your engine is the k20z2, no vtec on the exhaust cam and won't make a difference between SP and RD since you won't be flowing the full capacity for either versions.
