Improved MPG

Just shy of 3000 miles as of today. I have been getting about 24~27 mpg since purchase but lately I have noticed the engine has become a bit more responsive. I have just recently been revving past 3500 rpm.

Well, today I was driving on the highway averaging about 80~90 mph and the trip computer registered 34.5 mpg. First time I have seen it above 30 mpg.

It is quite typical of Honda engines to become more efficient and better performing after breakin. I think you'll find that the engine really begins to hit it's stride after about 10,000 miles.

I agree with Darth - I've got 12k on mine and it's so much more responsive now than when I first got it. My best friend got a 9-3 Vector a few months after me and I routinely beat him when we race up the 401 to Toronto.

Oh, and his Saab has been in the shop twice in 4 months.

I'm not a Euro car hater, I just play one on

and you should keep on seeing it open up even beyond 30,000 miles.

I always get over 30 mpg on the highway, even when my lady friend packs her ridiculously large suitcases in the trunk.

The city is another story...tough to get more than about 19 mpg.
