This post makes me laugh. :gheyfight:

The reason the TSX's price is so reasonable as is has a lot to do with the fact that there are NOT any factory options aside from navi/non navi for the most part.

If you start making a mile long option sheet you would end up creating a car thats more expensive to get all the same stuff you get now.

I am absolutly sure that once the 2005s start being made that dealers are going to wheel and deel on 2004's and I wouldnt be suprised to see some non navis eek out the door for high 23s

Acura's theory has always been to take the most commonly asked for set of options and combine it into an effective package that is fun to drive at a substantially lower cost. This will not change because this is their business model. And if you're thinking about something like an Integra Type-R, keep in mind that that car actually ended up being more expensive as opposed to less.

My solution...buy a car in Europe and have it shipped over and federalized in the States. Otherwise, start looking at other brands because you won't find what you're looking for under the Acura nameplate.
Luxury? At this price range. That is an oxymoron, no?

Depends on how you define luxury. If you're average Joe American, then luxury means automatic climate control, gadgets, and leather seating. If you're average Joe American, a Honda Civic with leather would be considered luxurious.

$30K price range is sufficient to start looking towards the luxury range, considering that the average family income in the US is barely above that. Anything that you can't afford will look like a luxury.

I'm with you, buddy. Although the 'luxury' factor weighs in on my next car purchase (as you get older, your propensity for refinement increases as well), I have certain pet peeves, main one being leather. I had leather in my '00 GS-R and I liked it for about three months. I conditioned it and cleaned it on a regular basis but still found the leather to crack. As many of you know, leather becomes hard, almost vinyl like. I have friends who keep their cars in good condition and one of those reasons is obviously the cloth having the ability to retain its initial appearance and quality.

I understand the TSX is marketed towards a 'luxury' crowd. But I've always found leather to be a temporary pleasure and cloth to be practical and even more comfortable. For those critics who suggest buying a different car is in my mind ignorant of the fact that one becomes fond of an automobile for many different reasons (style/exterior, my main, refinement, ergonomics, handling, performance, and even the brand name). Please don't ask me to buy a Jetta or Accord. They're hideous and family cars. TSX is sporty, sexy, and refined.

I wish they offered more options, but that won't cause me to relocate camp. I guess I just have to find some cloth seats (either JDM or European Domestic) and deal with the problems later...

TSX: No sunroof, cloth seats, No HID, no power seats for about $22-23k retail.

Is there any talk in bringing over lower optioned Eureopeon Honda accords.
Cman, have you considered an Accord LX/EX? The latest generation Accord is quite a capable car. It is just as refined as the TSX and though it does not bear a "luxury" badge, it performs with such aptitude you'd be hard pressed to think it was less.

I saw a new 330 without a sunroof at the dealer the other day. But i thinkg mazda 3 would be a good choice.

Yes, the Honda Accord is quite refined. However, i tend to like European sized cars and I the accord does look very bland on the outside compared to the TSX. Also, the sweet stick and sharper handling are found on the TSX. I would buy the Mazda 6 over the accord for meeting my needs.

None of the other choices are bad at all, I just would be happier not paying for all of the standard stuff that I don't want on the TSX.

Agreed, the round ass on the accord 4 door was suppose to be like j-lo but it looks more like a fat anna nicole.

Nope. Moonroof is standard on the 330.

I agree about the Mazda 3.
