I have a Honda problem!
About 4-5 months ago, I sold my 03 350z. I loved the car but it was a little too much sports car to be a daily driver (rough ride, winter, etc).
After I sold the Z, I bought my wife a 04 EX-L Accord Sedan. We both love the car. I'm currently driving her old '99 Camry, which is a good car, but I feel like I'm driving a minivan.
Here is the dilemma. I want to spend no more then $29K and I love the TSX w/Navi but I feel it's kind of stupid to have two four door Honda's when we have no kids. Is this stupid?
I've also considered the new Subaru Legacy(yet to see, drive or sit in one) and Accord Coupe W/V6.
If I get the TSX w/Navi I'm assuming that's what we take on trips which is a waste since the Accord has more room and rides a little softer on the interstate. I really want Navi though
I've always been happy with every Honda I've ever owned. What do you think I should do? Any other cars you can think of?

I've thought about it but I actually prefer the look of the TSX. Maybe I'll wait for the Accord with the cyclinder de-activation. I don't know if they are going to put it in the coupe though.

If the navi. wasn't so important, I wold suggest saving some money and picking up the RSX-S. I am a little confused about your need for the navi. Do you want the navi for road trips or just to have it as a gadget?
I don't think there are that many inexpensive cars out there with navi. The only other car that comes to mind is the mazda3s sedan (which is a really nice looking car), but I think that car only has like 160 hp.

I have a similar Honda problem I guess
My girlfriend (with whom I own a home) has an '03 Accord EX coupe 5MT 4-cyl, and I've got a TSX 6MT. Frankly, I don't like coupes that much, and it seems to me that the Accord coupe in particular is really just a 2-door sedan (sure, many people feel it looks better than the sedan, but I like 'em both).
For long road trips, we usually take her car because it has a slightly softer and more comfortable ride, and gets slightly better mileage.
We don't have any kids, and don't expect any in the near future.
It sounds like you think of sedans as boring or rugratmobiles, but for me, the TSX is considerably more fun to drive (and better looking) than the Accord coupe (unless you value the V6 power of the Accord over nimble handling of the TSX).
There's a great T.O.V. video of a road test comparing the TSX and Accord coupe V6, which you should check out if you haven't seen it already. The TSX really impressed 'em in the twisties, and only fell behind the Accord in the long straightaways.
You can't lose with either car, but obviously my vote is for the TSX.

As far as sporty goes I consider the TSX to be sportier then the Accord coupe. 2 doors doesn't make a car sporty.
I may just end up getting something cheaper and putting in one of those new Alpine head units that includes Navi. If my wife didn't already have a 4 door Accord I would buy the TSX tommorow. For some reason it just seems like a waste to have two 4 door sedans that are pretty similar.
As far as a used CL. I'm not willing to take that risk since they've had so many auto transmission issues. Also 6 speed units with Navi are nearly impossible to find.
I should just continue to drive the Camry since it's paid off and in great shape but I have this problem with getting different cars all the time.

I don't know if you are planning on having kids, but if you are, you will want two four door cars, it is just much more convenient.
Sounds to me like you want the TSX anyway, so just get it!

I may be fat but I'm slow
Hey man, there's one of me, and I have 1 4-door Honda (Civic) now, and am waiting for my new TSX, which will be my only car. 1 of me, and 1 four door "Honda" = 1:1 ratio.
2 of you, and 2 4-door "Hondas" also =1:1 ratio. So ratio-wise, you are fine!
Get the car you really want, which appears to be the TSX, or you will just be looking to dump it again in a couple years.
BTW, in my family, my mom and my sis both drive 4-door Honda Accords, and my dad drive's my sister's when she is away (school), so it's really like my parents both drive Accords. (2001 and 2004). It's a lot more practical than my girlfriend's parents, who have 3 kids, the youngest just graduated from HS, who all have Jeep Cherokees or Grand Cherokees, and the parents have a minivan and an Envoy XL...makes 2 sedans seem pretty damn reasonable!

I don't think there is anything wrong with having two honda sedans. I'd rather have a TSX and an accord coupe. But I would rather a tsx and accord sedan than an accord coupe and an accord sedan.

Believe it or not I think I miss that old Si more then I do the Z. I seem to think more of my cars the longer I'm away from them. Similar to how you remember ex-girlfriends being hotter then what they were.

That shit is hilarious....
I know a dealer that will get you into a 04 S2K for 31,600 if you want to drop in the extra 1600 bucks. He's in CA if you're interested.
Pretty good deal to me, most dealers out here sell for 1K over MSRP.......damn crazy and people buy em too!

I got rid of my 96 VW Golf and got the TSX.
I wanted something sporty but wouldn't even consider anything with 2 doors - I like the convinence of 4 doors.
My wife has a 2001 Camry (V6) and that's the car we use for longer/comfy trips.
I actually wish she had an Accord instead, as the Camry is way too spongy for me.
An Accord would've been perfect - smooth and comfy, and still enjoyable to drive.

TSX has 166 lb-ft, but the curve goes much higher.

I have no idea of your age or income level, but unless you are near retirement and/or very wealthy, it is a good idea to keep your overhead low. That means one nice car and one aging car that is just a step or two above the beater stage. Put the extra money in a Roth IRA or add to your supplemental retirement fund at work. So the advice is to stand pat.

Those are all good ideas. I'm 32 year old DINC and put roughly 15% + 6% employer match into my 401K along with 2K a year in a roth. My wife also does the 15% 401K. We've been doing this since 21.
Cars are my one vice.

Here's my ... I have now an Accord V6 coupe which I wouldn't trade for the world. I am going to purchase a TSX becuase it was love at first sight. BUT, say the dealership gave me any trouble or if for some reason I fell out of love with the TSX, I would have no second thoughts about going right over to Honda and buying a V6 sedan (Navi is a must for me as well). I test drove both the TSX and Accord sedan and was equally impressed with both. So my advice is go for the Accord coupe if what you want is that mix or comfort, style and speed. If you want sporty with speed, it is ok to have 2 sedans these days and TSX would be the way to go. I think a lot of folks here have wrestled with the Accord vs. TSX issue at some point.
