I hate snow!
My car got stuck in the snow today. Ok well I guess it was out of my own stupidity. Don't laugh! I was in my school parking lot, going to school, and I decided to cut across the pile of snow that was between the row of parking spaces. It didn't look that bad so I decided to try to go over it, even though I had a feeling I was going to get stuck. And so of course I get stuck, and two guys ended up having to help me out. So yea I probably looked like some stupid girl that doesn't know how to drive in the snow. I really don't know what I was thinking. Probably because it was early and my brain wasn't thinking right. Well guess I learned my lesson!
Any tips on how to get out of the snow in a situation like this?

Unless that isn't you...and you are a man...or a Snow Yeti, but then you could use your abominable strength to get the car out. Snow Yetis prefer the TSX, it is true my friends...

*18-21 year olds, please note that your Minimum Age falls below 18 y/o, which may mean you are subject to jailbait laws. Refer to your local laws and customs.

hehehehe. i love watching people in hoboken try to get out of snowed in parking spots. it's so comical. i love seeing people that don't know how to drive in the snow.
OP is young and inexperienced. don't worry, it'll come in time. you learn how to rock the car out of the snow without digging yourself in deeper. a small bag of rocksalt in the trunk can help a lot to maintain traction as your tires spin on ice or hard snow. best things is to get any snow out that surrounds the tire, clear a path of snow in front of the tires so your momentum isn't broken by another glob of snow.
then just ease your way out in low gear. boy, with a manual it was so easy to do. not sure how easy it is with auto, since it's been ages since i've had the situation with an auto.

Hmmm based on the age minimum formula I can't make a comment on your avatar.
50/2 + 7 = 32
Now if I change the formula 50/4 + 7 = 19.5 ..... Hmmm still can't comment
50/5 + 7 = 17 perfect. I love the new math. Yes I would help push you out.
Excited

You gotta use a piece of cardboard and stick it near your tire to get some traction. either that or turn ure vsa off make sure the coast is clear, hit it and the rpms will climb eventually your tires will catch.
EDIT: Woops I didn't realize so many people replied so quickly

Or maybe just get snow tires to avoid getting stuck. Nokian Hakka2 > *.
I only used my stock tires for 5000km, after winter is over, they are not going back on.

6MT or Death
I bought emergency strap on tire chains that I keep in my trunk in the spare well. Haven't had enough snow to test them, but thy're easy to put on and take off. For $50 it's not a bad purchase to have in the trunk.
I'd also like to note I do NOT hear any nasty jingling of chains coming from my trunk. It's like they're not even there.

I'm picturing a Mabach message board somewhere with the same sort of advice ....
"Yeah, my 60 got stuck in the snow today so I just told James to take out the polished cherry desk inserts and and throw them under the rear tire."
