How to spot a bad SNHOND3

As some of you have read, I got what seemed to be a defective unit from Logjam. However, here's what I found when I got a replacement unit. The harnesses were different! If you get one of these, make sure the harness looks like the good one:

See the red and white wires on the left? There was apparently nothing wrong with the unit itself, just the harness.

what was the exact issue, im getting good sound, but very soft where 40 on my volume is not too loud...
