How much do you think Acura would charge for the type S TSX?

I figured many of us would consider trading in there TSX for a type S immediatly if one were to ever come out. Since there is a only a 5-7K difference b/w the TSX and TL, I was wondering how much the price would go up. Get interesting when you consider pricing it above a base TL but below a (also hopefully coming) TL type S. How much more do you think a TSX type S would cost? I think a pretty safe assumption could be putting the Accord V6 into the TSX would be the main upgrade of the type S (possibly AWD). Anyone got any guesses?

Well, the diff. between an RSX w/ leather and an RSX-S is $2320, so I'll say that much.

....but it's not gonna happen.

yeah the A-spec package takes a big chunk out of the type-S game....

But what if Acura imported the JDM Euro-R Accord version, as a TSX type-R version or TSX R-spec or something.

Let's assume the K20 Hyper reving engine meets emisions and such, and they Actually gave it Recaro Seats. And for good measure it came with the JDM Aero package but they just swapped the H for an A. Let's also assume for good measure it has the power door locks etc. but gave up the sunroof for weight.

Would anyone buy the car? I know it's not really the Acura image but let's say they did this to clear out the last of the run before the next gen TSX years from now.

Would it be worth it or is the TSX A-spec good enough? I know for years I dreamed of the UK Accord type-R but I must admit given the choice now, I'd take the A-spec US TSX, I've grown to like bells and whistles. If our TSX was my daily car and not the wifes I'd have to go A-spec. But I'm not sure the lip kit would live long with a lowered ride as her daily car.

The RSX type R never showed up, why the TSX-S--especially with all the A-spec kits.

What would you do to make it unigue from the A-spec?
The K24 is IMO the best K-series for the US market....I'm not sure the K20 from the Euro would fit well in the US market...look what we did to the S2000?

Why would the K20 not fit well. I'd be so far in debt if our car had a K20 on it. Mod potential is all there on a K20. Think RSX-S.

The Euro -R k20 is a rev monster, we hate those here, hence why the US model S2000 lost a 1000rpm and gained torque in the f22 format--we like that better over here.

So the k20 would be made torquey for the US thus it would be -- you know a K24.

The k20 isn't tunable for the engine in the RSX, it's the ECU type used in the RSX....we won't get that ECU in the TSX, we would still run the same type of ECU thus we still couldn't hondata the car.

in the next 2 years this is my guess:

1. no more rsx/rsx type s
2. a-spec version of the tsx and TL--more performance oriented package(hp, suspension, turbo??)
3. a possible new coupe(tsx coupe, tl coupe)

and if they do a "typeS" or a spec TSX/tl , prices will do the following.
(USD)
TL-non nav 35,500
TL nav 37,500
TL a spec 41,500 (290-298 hp, suspension, wheels, performance tires, body kit, exhaust, etc...)

TSX- 27,990
TSX nav- 29,990
TSX a spec- 33,990 (220-240hp, suspension, turbo, wheels, tires, body kit, exhaust)

Everyone says there will be no Type-S but I think what most people mean is that there HAS to be an increase in hp, and a noticable one. Whether they call it Type-S or not, who cares.

I love the HP figure, I may be a minority but I love over achieving 4cyls.
I like the engine just the way it is, I'd hate the car to have torque steer or anything like that...I find it d*** spirited to drive. I get in enough trouble with the engine as is.

The day we drove it home from the dealer I blew by a cop when I crested a hill doing 85pmh in a 50mph zone.

It's fast enough for sure, one thing to remember is that it's not just how fast your car is, it's also how much of that power you're willing to use. I don't see any TLs or BMWs around here racing for example, in fact most people with powerful cars seem to be driving pretty conservatively. How often do you see a guy with that high-end X5 really stepping on it? For the vast majority of buyers carrying these big V6s/V8s is just dead weight and a waste of gas.

I myself like to use the full power pretty much daily for passing, but I also think that if I had more power I would just be tempted to do more risky passing maneuvers. I guess I would like more power just because I know that other cars in this price range offer more, but I know that in reality the car is enough for me. That's why I bought it.

And although some of us say the TSX needs more power, it's not necessairly that every TSX sold needs to have it, it's more that it should be available a la 325/330 or 1.8T/3.0. Then you could de-badge it and pretend like you own the high-end model.
