How much for 5,000 mi. service?

I just had the oil and filter changed, fluids topped up and tire pressures corrected (yeh, right), and a few miscellaneous inspections done, at 5,000 miles for $39.50
at Smithtown Acura here on Long Island, NewYork. Is this in line with what others paid?

Smithtown Acura? I'm not sure if they are related to Smithtown Toyota, but the last time i drove up to NY i had to get my 4runner serviced there and the idiots used the impact wrenches to take off my wheel lugs before they removed the plastic centerpiece. This ended up scratching the plastic cover so instead of it being silver color near the lugs it was more of a yellow color.

If they are a different owner, back on topic...
My first oil change was free. I believe most people's here are too. Also, the first oil change isn't really due until 5000 miles even if you are on the severe schedule. So... to answer your question $39.50 is way out of line compared to what everyone else paid. Everyone else got their first oil change free.

You should check local Acura dealers on-line, mine had a coupon for a $29 oil change.

There's a service at 5000 miles? I was looking at the service log book, and the first entry is 10000 miles.

I'm not even to 2k yet, so no worries -- just wondering.

10k is for normal service. If you are a "severe" environment the manual recommends 5000 miles. You are still normal even if you occassionally drive in severe conditions.

Yes, and according to both the owner's manual and the service manual, the first oil filter change isn't until 20,000 miles.....
