How long did your stock brake pads last?

How long did your stock brake pads last?
I'm at 39k miles... and I'm starting to hear a lot of squeels. The front pads and rotors were replaced under warranty not too long ago so those are good. I'm suspecting it's the rear's but I can't tell if the squeel is coming from front or rear.
Just wanted to see how long they last on average for you guys??

Your rear pads must be shot by now. I'm almost at 20k miles and I was getting massive screeching and squeeling.. I had the brakes checked and the rear pads were virtually gone. My front pads were okay though. I ended up replacing all four pads.

mine lasted 30k before I replaced them w/ hawks, but not because they were shot, there was quite a lot of meat on them.
just take a look at the pads in the caliper its easy to see how much is left

My rears wore at 2x the rate of the fronts. At 22k miles I upgraded all the rotors and the pads. I think if you braking style is to modulate your brakes while braking (bring in the rears instead of nose diving the front) you'll really notice more rear pad wear. Either way I think everyone should upgrade the F & R pads together when the frontsor the rear OEM's need to be replaced.
BTW - She now stops on a dime and boy do I feel better in heavy traffic. I'm only looking out for the bozo behind me who can't stop as quick as I can now.

How exactly do I tell? I don't know much about brakes... Not sure what they looked like when new....

mmmmmm....
It really depends on how you drive and where you drive. If you drive on the freeway most of the time then it should last longer and if you drive on local a lot then it can wear out faster than it should..

I went with RB RacingBrake fronts and Powerslot rears with Hawk HPS pads and Goodridge SS lines. RB now has rear rotors (I politicked them hard for a TSX version rear rotor) to go with their fronts and they reccommend & sell the Hawk pads. Whether you go with the Ceramic or the HPS is a matter of choice. I believe JTso has the ceramics and gives them a thumbs up. All I can say is that Acura should have made a like-type setup OEM for the TSX. It does make a huge difference. I can kick in the ABS at will, that is unless the car stops first.
Now I'm spending my time looking into which tire to by to replace the Mich's in about 5k+ miles. I wish Yokohama made the ADVAN S.4. in a 215/50-17 size. Bummed...

80,000 km (~50,000 miles) and counting. Had the brakes looked at last week. They said 90% worn. I'll likely get the Hawk HPS pads. Should I change the rotors while I'm at it?

I switched my stock pads and rotors out at 28k and now have 32k with no problems. I had lots of vibrating before. I now have Hawk ceramic pads with Power Slot rotors. The dust is not much more than what came from the stock pads. I got all my stuff at TireRack. I'm happy so far.

From a performance standpoint, more brake dust is generally more desirable than less brake dust. Brake pads that produce a lot of dust help to shed heat from the rotor and pad surface. Sometimes those cheapo short-lived organic pads that produce tons of dust actually give you a little better braking endurance as well as a much longer rotor life. I've always had great luck with Mintex pads. They are readily available in Europe for the TSX (or equivalent), but it seems no one carries them here. They are cheap and provide really good performance.
