How easy is the TSX stolen
First, long time reader--first time poster (at least on this forum) lol.
My girl has a 2007 TSX and we recently moved to an area in Irvine, CA. While this is the safest City in the US (at least last year), we noticed in the paper that a 99 accord was stolen a few days ago.
Basically, how easy is it to steal a locked 2007 TSX?
Thanks!

from what i've been reading, most of the tsx's that have been broken into had no damage or any signs of force entry. from what i hear, there might be a master key out there. it's been happening a lot in the bay area.

Here's a 2006 thread on the subject

Here's a 2005 theft rate report. It was the most recent I could find.

Hey, welcome to Irvine! What part of the city are you in?
Overall, Irvine is a VERY safe city, but from what I hear vehicle vandalism/theft is the biggest problem here. Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to your question. I think any car is capable of being stolen, it just depends how badly the thief wants it. The biggest thing I would be worried of is our headlights...we all know how the ricers love our projectors

With my GPS and Sirius sitting on my dash, what was the only thing the pricks took? My TSX owner's manual and bottle of touch-up paint.
Car thieves are only slightly higher on life's totem pole than rapists and murderers.

I locked my keys in my car and called Acura TLC to have someone open it up. Took an hour to show up, but this guy took one look at the car and was in it in 15 seconds. He slipped a bag in the front door window jamb near the base of the window, inflated the bag a bit to create a gap, slipped in this little rubber loop around the lock peg sticking up and popped it up. The alarm went off and I'm sure the immobilizer killed the fuel pump, but he was in.
From there I could see someone flatbedding it and hauling it away... not difficult at all.

I think at most your common area if not a big city youll get more vandals, than the actual car stolen.
I've yet to see someone pry off my headlights but I live in a safe neighborhood. When i go out to queens, then i worry to death, even about the smallest of all things.
The most i'd would think is people would want the headlights or engine if they knew people were looking for that stuff, they could make big bucks on it.
But that would assume they knew what it could be used for.

Realistically, your car may be stolen by any of the service guys at your specific dealer. They know where you live and they can program your key etc. Flatbedding is always an option for thieves, but not always easily accessible for them. Our headlights have enough bolts not to be stolen along with a bumper that needs to be removed. Remote start systems also put you at risk. I live in Queens, NY. I hear a lot of news of attempts of people trying/wanting to steal my car. Mainly it's guys with civics/integras who want a K-Series motor. Biggest deterrent for them is that my car is AT.

I had my TSX taken by a flatbed rollback truck while it was no more than 30 feet away from me and in broad daylight. I was at a friends apartment complex only briefly, and sure enough, I come out and it had been removed for not having a parking pass. I'm only lucky it was just a routine tow and not something more malicious.
Rollback > your car. Doesn't matter what it is.

i jus bought a compustar alarm. makes it that much harder for those mother******* to steal. once they c that u have an alarm they wont bother with ur car. they rather get a car that doesnt have 1, especially that TSX's are a dime a dozen. My dad's civic jus got broken into and my car was right beside his on the drive way. They only took his airbags and seat belts. either they saw my alarm light and didnt bother or they jus didnt want any TSX's...

Considering the VERY low frequency of TSX road sightings in Central Indiana, I would guess it is also VERY low on the (theft) desirability scale around here. And I like it that way! I suspect the TSX is much more popular on the coasts.

most cars now have alarms built in... so alarms are slowly are surely dying out as an semi-effective theft deterrent

Once you practice removing and installing your immobilizer to get hondata you are ready to put your ecu and immbilizer in another car that has the same tranny. That's not funny.

I guess that is what happens when you have a fairly affluent city directly next door to a less-than-ideal city.

Anyway, the study says 1.85 cars are stolen out of 1000 on average. The TSX is at 1.96 per 1000, so that's close enough to average that I wouldn't worry about a TSX being stolen any more than any other car. What's the the deal with the Toyota Tundra? 18 per 1000 stolen. On the other end, supposedly not even one Volvo XC70 was stolen. Or Nissan Titan. Hard to believe.
