"slow overweight pig" = no
"wtf you bought a civic for $30K" = that just shows them how much they know about and into cars, they don't even know what the car is based on?
and finally, you said they don't drive expensive cars, i assume more than 30k is expensive for them? well, you can tell them at least i can afford one. or just ignore them and let them make an ass of themselves sooner or later. They are just those typical people who believe only BMW or AUDI or mercedez are the best and anything non european is lame and weak.
yea if i could afford a ferrari i would have got it too instead of the TSX too but obviously that's not the case but i am extremely happy with what i got.

Let them outrun you and burn all their gas and follow them to the gas station. You can get your last laugh in when you see them spending 100 bux just to prove that they can go faster than you.

I just love the title of this thread.
For some reason, I was picturing a complete stranger approaching you after parking your TSX:
*gets out of the TSX after parking*
Stranger: "Hey that's your TSX? Man, it's SLOW!!!! HAAAAHAAAHAAAHAAA!!!!! HAAAHAAAHAAA!!!!!

What Would Don Draper Do?
i don't really get comments like that...the only "negative" comment i've gotten was that it's a chick's car.
those around me that know cars and know the tsx are fully aware of its strengths and weaknesses. and those that aren't so familiar with the car will usually comment on its looks.
but yea, who cares what other people say. i don't let stuff like that bother me...i bought the car for myself, not for other people.

Now there is no disputing that the tsx has crap for torque(liek i said earlier my 2.5 altima has more) but h.p. wise its right in there with two TURBO charged sedans in its class and there 0-60 times are still within fracton of a second from each other.

i usually let them laugh..... and i just wait til i catch them on the road one day when im on my R1 :-).... i fly passed them and make them look slow as shit.... most non-modded "fast" (evos, Sti, A4..... all those turboed cars) cars are not gonna keep up with a 1000cc sport bike... lol... and my tsx is just a cruising car anyways....i mean c'mon its 5at with navi.. lol... all my speed is on my street bike.. :-)

U can always pinpoint their car's weaknesses and things they dont like about their car. I am sure they will get pissed off too somehow.
Or be sacarstic, praise theirs and shames on ur sacarsticaly.

My second choice was the 250 HP Legacy GT. I actaully got to the point of real negotiation for it. I got them down to pretty close to the TSX's price. I also test drove a TL. For some reason, I liked the TSX better. Maybe if the TL was the exact same price, I MAY have gone for it, but I thought it drove "bigger" and I didn't like the interior as much. The Legacy GT really flies, but again, I didn't like the interior very much and the seat was really unconfortable. When I thought about how often I actually get on "the open road", I realized that all that extra power would just frustrate me as I go between red lights and stop signs. The TSX is still quite fun to drive and at least it won't suck down the gas with all the stop-and-go.
Most people I know have never heard of the TSX, so I don't get any of the insults. I've never really cared about the "elite status" of a car though. I kind of like flying under the radar. I drove an Olds Intrigue for the past 6 years, which is another great value that few people knew anything about. I will probably never buy a BMW or Audi because there are so many people that buy them for the snob appeal. You know: to prove that they've arrived.

Three Wheelin'
does it really matter what they think, so what if they have high hp cars and fast car, you cant compare a fuel-efficient luxury sedan to some high hp gas guzzler sports car. for me, its 50/50 but meh all my friends enjoy ridin, all of them say its cozy and very comfortable, they enjoy the sound system and everything about the tsx. then i have one friend who drives a heh pointiac grand prix gt saying about how many liters how many hps his has, but hah the power of iV-tec haha, i even got a friend who drives a Audi A6 and he says the TSX is an awesome car for its range. and the person saying its a 30k Civic well they are envying you

TSX April sales were up 22% versus April '05 and TSX year to date sales were up 17% versus a year ago.
Not bad for a "Slow, bloated Accord/Civic" If it's such a POS like your friends think, why is it such a hot seller in its 3rd year of production? Shouldn't sales be dropping off, instead of increasing for such an OLD dog of a car? LOL.
I mean, come'on, people shouldn't be buying this vintage of TSX, they should be waiting for the '08....right?
WRONG! People are buying this vintage TSX because they realize its a great car and value for their money, and nothing else really comes close for the same price.

Honda became famous for their high revving 4's. I could have easily bought the TL (V6), I didn't want it, I wanted the TSX BECAUSE of the 4 cylinder.
They don't actually know what a "V6" even is. It's that "dude, it's got a V6" ethos that turns me off. Give me a challenge, make me think. It's the same reason I don't know if I'd put a supercharger on my engine. It's the easy way out.
(I have the luxury, though, of getting my acceleration fix from a 550hp big block Chevy.)

I bet these geniuses think that you have a "V-4" under your hood, too, right??

00 civic Si -- Tell him he's driving a fucking civic, and while a great car, he has absolutely no rights to talk about anyone until he grows up and gets an adult's car
06 --330i -- best one--- ask him why he blew nearly 50k when ur car at 26k has as many if not more feature content, and reliablity records than his car
05 - TL -- great car, and i'm sure u'd also have purchased one if you had 5 grand more .
04 WRX STI -- very fast car, but easily classified as a kid's car. I mean grow up. Sorry I can't take anyone seriously as an adult with their onyl car being a WRX or EVo.... they look like toys... and have absoultely nothing to offer but power for 30k. TSX guys and WRX guys want COMPLETELY different tihngs from thier cars, and u guys will just butt heads. --- tell him yea he can beat u at a stop light, but the ladies will appreciate the class of ur TSX.
A4 -- Also great car, but unless he's got the 3.0V6 , can he really talk anything about being slow? I mean ins't the TSX and A4 1.8T on performance par with eachother???
------
Bottom line, ur idiot friends need to be congratulating you on a new car thats a remarkable value for its price, and aplud you for growing up and out of the kid's car market.
If they can't, keep em' around till they grow up, or do what I'd do, stoop to thier level and kick em' in the nuts.
kthxbye.
