Hood latch sensor - location? Pictures?

I think my 05 TSX is having the dreaded random alarm issue. I think I've narrowed it down to the hood latch as the culprit. The problem here - where exactly is it? Does anyone have a picture they could post?

I imagine it isn't the part that's located near the front grill, near where the license holder would be (if a front plate was required). Though in my non-tech mind ... it seemed like it could be.

I'd rather just disconnect the sensor to make my final ruling but not sure where that's actually located before I start taking stuff apart.

Any exact info/diagram/picture/video appreciated!

v/r,
Chris

Interesting. I've been here for 7 years (and had an 05), and this is the first I've heard of it. I guess I'd question why it could be referred to as "the dreaded random alarm issue". Plus, I never realized that the hood was connected to anything (that would sense whether it was open or closed).

Howdy. It seemed to me that the problem was fairly common, as when I searched for the problem ... there were many responses to the TSX alarm randomly going off. Could be a door sensor, the trunk sensor, the hood sensor. Hence "dreaded" as many people couldn't identify a solution to the problem.

I saw somewhere (sadly I can't recall where) that the individual simply disconnected the sensor to eliminate the problem (and keep the neighbors happy - no more random horn honking, etc). I'd like to try that to see if that solves the problem, but ... not sure exactly where to go. Currently I pull the horn fuse while I troubleshoot the issue.

Anyway! Hope that's a bit more informative.

The switch is integrated into the hood latch. Two pin gray connector is directly under the latch. You'll probably have to remove the cover between the grille and the radiator to access the connector.

Unplugging the hood switch should inhibit the factory security system from arming with the doors locked/trunk closed, if that's what you're trying to accomplish.
