Hood Fading TSX
I bought my car used a few years ago and and the hood only is badly faded - looks oxidized. California car. Car is in the sun a lot during the day but this looks far worse than normal wear and tear. Anyone experienced this. I suspect the prior owner cracked up and it was a poor hood repaint but just checking. Other evidence of a prior lame driver such as scraped rims from kissing curbs. Paint looks good everywhere else and just painting a hood seems unusual as they usually blend fenders. So far I've clayed the vehicle and new wax; doesn't help a bit. Polish is next. Thanks.

Probably just needs a good buff job with a rotary buffer. I would take it to a professional detailer for some paint correction.

Thats pretty much where I was going but just wanted to be sure there wasn't an issue with the paint on the model that I could explore with the dealer. We'll see if it's fixable. Thanks for the input.

can you take a picture of the fading and post it here? It could be some simple oxidation and a chemical cleaner such as Meg's Color-X
