Honda Civic --> Toyota RAV4 --> Acura TSX
Following are the events that led up to the purchase of my TSX.
Nov 2005: I decided that its time to get a car and set a $20k budget. I gave it some thought and realized that the actual purpose of a car is to take me from point A to point B, and the Honda Civic would suffice. A friend talked me out of it
Dec 2005: New and Improved Toyota RAV4 was launched and I liked the looks of it.
Feb 2006: Finally decided to get the RAV4 and started emailing the internet departments for quotes.
March 2006: Went to test drive the RAV4 and had carried my check book with me to pay my initial deposit on the car. They didnt have any 2WDs and had only the 4WDs and I didnt want to pay the extra $1k. I left the dealership all pissed .
Next week, Gave the dealer my final offer for the 4WD. He agreed to my price but didnt have the color i was looking for and said he would call me in 3-4 days.
Just then a thought struck me. I began to think that being in my mid-20s Id rather get a car that would be more fun to drive and didnt exactly need an SUV. Not to forget my friends stared making fun of me by telling me that I would be driving a go-cart. Friend suggested test driving the TSX, that had been a topic of our discussion for a few weeks. The very next morning i went to Test drive the TSX-5AT and I just loved it from the moment I sat in it. I was going @70MPH on the highway when the dealer started on the XM Radio one of my favorite DJs was playing and I got a feel of the 360-watt sound system and the decision was made then and there.
April 2006: Joined this forum and after reading a few posts I figured that being in mid-20s i would enjoy the 6MT more than anything. I test drove the BMW 325i-MT immediately followed by the 325i-AT. I realized that the automatic transmission though convenient was not as much fun to drive. Finally test drove the TSX-6MT. I now have a TSX w/6MT parked outside.
Thank you all.

nice...
many people feel that driving a go-kart-like car is a good thing. i'm assuming you were referring to the looks, rather than the handling...

And plus, my personal opinion the RAV4 is not a guy car. A dude at work has one and we make fun of him constantly on it. The TSX is also kinda of a chick car, but it's definitly a bit more manly than the RAV4. Since you got the 6MT, you're set and picked the right choice...congrats.
