Cool Honda Charges More than Acura

Hi Everyone,

I just changed the cabin air filter for my 05 TSX.
It cost me around $37 CAD at the local Acura dealership.
The part number is 80292-SDA-A01. made in USA.

Then I went to Honda dealership to get the same thing for my wife's 07 Civic. I thought it should be cheaper because it is Honda.
However, It is the same thing same part number and they charges around $47 CAD.

I also found couple web-sites that can order OEM parts, but they just don't ship to Canada.

Interesting.

If you want to save a good amount of money, next year, you should try changing them yourself. Along with the engine air filter, it is one of the easiest maintenance tasks you can do.

For the cabin filter, the access is through the glove box. Just search on Youtube for a videos on TSX & Civic cabin air filter changes. it will take 5 minutes to replace each one.

Sorry, I guess I misunderstood your post; perhaps the prices for the parts threw me off, along with the CAD currency exchange.

I just bought my cabin filters at Walmart, (for may TSX and my wife's Civic), and dodged the markup at the Honda & Acura dealer.

Good for you for doing the job yourself!

Depends. If Honda had to get the part from Acura you're going to pay the mark-up from dealer to dealer and then the standard mark-up after that.

We ship to Canada via US Postal Priority International Mail. The part was only $15.62 on our site. You may want to purchase mulitple parts to offset the freight cost to Canada. The fees are approx. $21.00 for 1 lb, $23.00 for 2 lbs etc... Rates can be found online at www.usps.com . If you have any questions or need parts in the future, you can email or PM me and I can give you a freight quote prior to ordering.
