Has this never been posted? From the Japan side of things this looks to be pretty close to what the 08/09 Euro R and US TSX is going to be based on or looking like. Not the US accord concept pictured on this tread.

If ONLY Acura would come out with a coupe that is under the 50k mark and make it look even sharper then this new Accord.

Honda needs to do some bold designs and with the current line up of Civic, CR-V, and Accord they are on the right direction. Now they need to change the Ridgline's front end and come out with the new Pilot.

Acura has been quoted as saying that the it's latest concepts point the way to a future design language as the MDX has started things off. So the TSX-concept will give us a clue as to not only that model but the next TL.

My hope is that the ASCC's RWD SH-AWD will be headed to the next TL and RL.

50K?

Please lets keep the TSX LOADED with NAVI at the $30000-31000 price mark. I think that way they can actually hurt MB, BMW, Infinity, ect.

I must admit it's not a bad looking car, but it looks kinda like the IS and the new TT... A bit too much like them IMHO. I'm also not a big fan of the front end(not aerodynamic enough for me).

Waiting on the '09 TSX(as well as the BMW 1series) before I decide on what to switch into.

I like it. Im looking forward to seeing the finished product and how much of this design actually carries over.

Reminds me of the new IS 250/350 which I absolutely love!

The New NSX is set to compete with the new supra, supposed to be in the same performance catagory as the z06, vipers etc. The skyline is supposed to be priced between 50K-70K, so there is no plans or way that a TSX will ever be in that group, its not designed to be.

I was talking strickly coupe here. The TSX may increase in price (which would make some sense) as I'm sure the Accord will offer more bang for the buck. With that said, the TSX will need something other then SH-AWD (assuming it will offer it) to separate it from Honda.

IMHO, the TSX should step more into the luxury car area by offering luxury car features. The established players: MB, BMW, and Infinity not only have the looks (subjective) and the powertrain but also have the feeling of being a luxury car.

The next TSX nees to feel like the RL does. Use better leather, more interior lighting at night besides the one blue light it currently has, and some other nice attention to details.

I'm not ga-ga over this Accord design (I do think it's nice looking), but IMO, I have to say that it's levels ABOVE the Acura Sports4 (can't remember the "official" name) design that the new TSX will supposedly be based on. That Sports4 design is fugly, and would definitely have me looking at other vehicles in the Honda/Acura family or outside the brand altogether. I say this under the assumption that the Sports4 concept is a very close interpretation of what the production model would be...

I agree with the MB, and BMW, but maybe Lexus not Infinity...Ive have never been impressed with most of Infin. I normally rank them MB, then BMW...and everyone else. I doubt I would ever pay more than 55K for a Japanese lux car unless it was a NSX or high performance sports car. For my money, I prefer German Engineering for the 55K+ lux cars. Japanese niche is sub 50K cars, where they are more than kicking German butt, for a lot cheaper.

From post # 248 in link...this coupe is real close to what we get...

Appears you and ostrich are right on.....from SVP Honda at press conf Detroit 1/8/07:

"For the 2008 model year, Accord enters its 32nd year and 8th generation. And before I continue I should tell you that the styling concept you see here is an accurate representation of what the next generation Accord coupe will look like. "

Lightbulb Accord vs TSX

I hope that Honda makes good on their promise of differentiating Honda from Acura & cutting down on crossshopping among the 2. This means that the TSX will have to have the things that the Accord has {LED tail lights, VCM, 6 cylinder engine (or turbo) & maybe a hybrid}. They also have to add some more luxury features like all leather ventilated seats, dimming/tilting down in reverse side mirrrors, backup camera/sensors, surround sound etc etc etc.

w/ the RSX dead, the TSX becomes Acura's cheapest model & gets the brunt of most of the naysayers that claim Acura is not a true luxury brand. If Honda wants to change that, the above would be a good start.

i really like the front of it, but the back of it is

maybe if they gave our tsx a front more like that and kept the rear pretty much the same i'd like it more. the nose looks a lot more powerful and "meaner"

The thing with concepts is that they get watered down when they get to production. I think the rear could benefit from some help, but overall it is more agressive than our TSX. Thinking that the production version will be more sedate, i think it is quite nice!
