first off the 4200 to 15000 is just the color of the light that our eye sees nothing more and hids will give you a better beam even though leds look brighter only because its a concentrated beam of light but they do look sick im thinking of going with the leds personally just because i dont want to get hassled for having to bright of lights with all hids in the front plus all the aftermarket hids are truely junk

Thanks for the info, I went with some silvania silver stars after replacing the lenses with lexan, they look pretty good.

I just bought brand new OEM fog lights since I got the wholesale cost and I needed the whole thing... wiring, lights, brackets, switch an all. Wondering what bulbs come with them.

if you want yellow light, 3000k is your best bet, for a pure white, i'd get 4300k, if you want slight blue, i'd get 5000k, and if you want a solid blue, i'd get 6000k

a cheaper alternative to hid fogs is using LED cree fog light that gives off a pure white light, the ones listed here http://automationled.bigcartel.com/c...og-light-bulbs

If you can find some nice HID focusing housings (not regular refractive housings as that would be illegal) then I'd go with them as they'll provide better street-surface light. If you're going for form over function, or you're price-sensitive, I'd check out some LED styles.

I'm with the factory look. Just got them installed today at work. Looks great, but I can definitely say I will need something more than the factory bulbs that came with them. So, definitely more function over form, and not too worried about cost.

What's the best bulb for the OEM housings? Something to match the OEM HID headlights in color.
