HID lights ...
Anybody notice the nice sharp line that the HID projects is not as sharp as when it was new? My right headlight doesnt seem to have that nice sharp line as the left one does.

I have an S2000 which I believe has the same lights... it's a 2000 and the lights/line appear as they did the day I drove it off the lot. You might have shifted one of the lights... also... one side has a sharper line then the other. The reason is that you don't want to blind on coming traffic so the angle is different, so the line is not as sharp... is that what you are talking about?

I remember when I first got the car both sides were nice and sharp when I shined it on a wall at around 15ft. Now the right one seems a little fuzzy. Your right it could have shifted a little. I'll get it checked out during my 8K service.

I may be mistaken, but I believe the technology used by the HID beam is a projector not a reflector. If the beam lacks the sharply defined cutoff or the light output is different, it's possible that the HID bulb may have moved away from its optimal position behind the lens. Daylight savings is ending soon, so you may have an opportunity to compare your lights to those on a new car during business hours, in the event that the service advisor says "it's normal."

Good idea Tinky, if not that, the reflector inside ( a very small one) may have vibrated loose, it is the reflector that creates the sharp cut off.

Projectors create a much sharper cutoff than reflectors. Although some parabolic reflectors can create pretty decent cutoffs, a projector will always be better. The main advantage of projectors is the fact that they can be aimed higher than reflectors because no stray light (above the cutoff) will exist to cause glare to oncoming drivers. This is especially important with high intensity light sources like HID and the new HIR halogen bulbs.
