should be done in 3 more weeks as of today. pissed. only had the car for 3 weeks and the lady had to run a red light. but should be done soon. and paint job better than stock.

Hey 723dragon, where are you getting your work done? I am looking for a good place to take my TSX for some body work.

 

one reason why theres not that many tsx in portland is cause of me, i'm one of them and not able to drive it hehe. but yeah the shop i took it to is 555 autobody. its located between division and stark on 82nd. i stopped by the shop couple days ago and i was amazed at how the paint was. and the shop dude was like. ''i'm still not done yet. still have to buff and sand and repaint'' i was like what? damn. it was already up to my expectations but not up to theres... really nice guys. very assuring and guaranteed work. what happened to your tsx?

 

723, what parts of the car are they re-painting? just the left fender and entire front or more than that?

Did anyone at the shop give you any idea as to what the cost is to have the air bags replaced?. I remember it was about 8K CAD on my Integra in 99 for the 2 front bags.

No I haven't been downtown in my TSX, Last time I was up there was over a month ago and I was in Beaverton and Hillsboro.

I've only seen 4 other TSX's around here.

 

actually. after the accident happend. and my HID was pushed back so it started to melt the battery the caught on fire. and started to get the insulation on fire until someone pointed it out and fire man came with small extinguisher. so the battery or something exploded later on and my whole car besides the passenger front and back doors were messed up. little specks/bumps in the paint the size of water specs as if it were sprinkling that could chip if you touch it or scrape it with finger nails. so they painted the whole car. also painted an oem rear spoiler and maybe fog lights

 

Wow. Batteries exploding, people running red lights, thousands of dollars for airbags.

Airbags are a bitch. The airbag, sensor, and module all need to be replaced when the airbags are released. This is how some cars get salvage titles I believe.

How exactly did this happen anyways? Someone ran a red light??

What kind of phone do you have? 3650?

 

Also, post some pics when your car is done.

One more thing, when the lady hit you or visa versa (whatever), do you think the airbag helped you? Do you feel the airbags were nesscessary? From the sounds of it, you were not injured (a good thing).

i'm so pissed for you my brotha' crappy drivers!

 

i was sitting at a red light waiting for my light. it turned green and i wasn't thinking of anything. started to go (my speed was under 5 mph) then boom from the left side. my car did a 90 deegree turn to the right. only my front airbags came out because she hit me from the front. if i went 1 more foot futher, she probably would have broken my leg and the side ones would have gone off too.

well i'm still hurtin in my lower back and neck and left shoulder.

btw the car was estimated damage was 12k +/-

well my car is pretty much all done excluding the passenger side airbag. its on back order from japan the shop said that acura has discontinued it; thats why it is taking so long to finish my car. just waiting for the passenger air bag to arrive, which will be in "guaranteed" end of october. i wonder if it was really discontinued or not, if it is discontinued, i wonder WHY? anyone have any input? or maybe it just takes my shop a little bit longer to recieve one.

You are OK, aren't you? I was in an accident where other cars were spinning around but not my pickup. Some guy in a Jetta or something either misjudged trying to cut me off as he merged into my lane and clipped my pickup on the front left fender. He went a-spinning and hit a Camry which went a-spinning too. I was fortunate in maintaining control and pulled over.

Be sure to get a life-time warranty from the repair shop. The job may look nice when you pick it up, but you need to cover yourself a couple years down the road. I tend to notice repair shop issues when I try to detail and polish my vehicle.

BTW, you should never detail, polish, or wax your newly repainted car. Sometimes you should wait 30 or more days to let the paint cure. It's actually good that the airbag is back-ordered. Your car's paint can have some running chance of curing relatively well.

 

o man..that sucks..are you going to trade your car/sell it after its done the repairs?? cars that have damage like that are never quite the same ever again sad to say..and i hope the paint job turns out ok...remember to feel the edge of the hood at the top for any roughness..all cars that i've looked at with replaced/repainted hoods can never get that part smooth and top corners of hood sometimes there is a little evidence of paint droplet.

 

did you miss any days of work? just wondering, because there is a formula that a friend gave me that's useful in determining wether or not you should get a lawyer to sue or if you should settle out of court with the other person's insur. co.

 

heres the latest pic as of today (11-6-03) all the body work is done except for passenger airbag. acura sent the 'air bag' to the shop but didn't send the black part that comes with it on top of the air bag so i have to wait another f*ing two weeks!!! its been past 2 months since its been in the shop, i'm getting very impatient and pissed off. as you can see they have installed my fog lights and another thing is that i still have the factory plates on!!! damn i'm so mad!!

no not yet. i haven't driven my baby since sept.2nd.2003. :'( i miss it so much, i've seen only 4 around my area, and i can't wait to be the 5th. well, tech. i'm supposed to be the 1st but now i dont have it in my possesion. oh well 2 more weeks the max i hope!!!

 

when the airbag exploded, did it hurt? also i noticed an under body kit on ur car, did you pay extra for it, if so how much?

 

i already had the body kit. no it did not hurt cause i was leaned too far back, my left shoulder, neck and back hurts, i'm going to treatment

no, fog lights dont come painted, i told them i wanted everything oem so they left it as it is. i also told them to leave off the 'acura' and 'tsx' emblems so now its clean, no residue marks or anything because its never been put on.

 

Huh? You had rear damages too? I thought only your driver side front was damaged (oh, also the interior where the airbags are).
