is there any difference between an 04 and an 05 hood? When i look online i see hoods for the tsx and it says 04-07 and then i see a couple that just say 04. Would that fit my 05 even though it says its for an 04?

04/05 are the same. 06-08 are slightly different (ie: there's no chrome strip on the very end of it). As for sizes though, They should all fit. I think it's just that strip that's different. Since you have an 05 and you're looking at an 04, you should have no problem in either case

The other front-end difference between the 04/05 and the 06-08 is the grille/front bumper. They are interchangeable though (as I remember seeing pictures on a thread before), but you have to match the grille and front bumper together.

well im looking at carbon fiber hoods. would that make any difference? Im pretty sure an 04 would fit my 05 but i just want to make sure.

'03-'05 - no difference whatsoever.
As said above, pre-'06 and '06+ are replaceable but you need to replace grill as well.
Your current trim will/should fit the CF one if you so desired, unless the brand you opt for decided to make theirs like the '06 - homogenous rather than two-piece.
