One item to note is that there are many companys that sell aftermarket extended War-s and you can probably buy one for about 500-600 bucks. I would wait on the car, or get a TL for 30k. My friend just bought a used TL with navi with 6000miles on it for 275k out the door.

If you could wait for a 2006...why couldn't you wait for an ABP?

Lets see? Are you in a rush to get it? Do you have a CELL PHONE WITH BLUETOOTH??? If your getting a 6mt then the bluetooth will help you talk using the car instead of the phone.

That feature alone is worth it. Also, new rims and new trim and ipod support. Awesome.

ABP wasn't an option..... they checked the incoming list for the next 2 months and found nothing in New England.... they found an ABP w/manual but no NAV 2 wks out... I really wanted the nav.... anyways it's all good... I'm getting the car tomorrow night and this will all be done....

One more thing about my deal... I get to keep all the "take-offs" from my car.. the stock suspension and rsb are the big ones... so I can sell those or keep them....

you are just not gonna be able to haggle with brand new modification

maybe knock couple of hundred dollars off that's it........

IMO you are looking at 27,000 + TTL for non Nav

TL is like 34,000 Out the door for non Nav

while 2005 you'll probably get 25,000 + TTL
like 27,000 OTD.......

if you really like the 06 and don't care about couple of thousand dollars
wait for 2006........you'll regret it if you really want the 2006 now.

it's not like you don't have a car to drive......just wait 4 months

if you want save money...go for 2005 haha

I am pretty sure that's true.....as it was for RSX when it first came out

As for Mercedes Benz you need to reserve the car when they change their style XD
which means not much space for haggling

donno about TSX, but you can always try

See post #32 above...furthermore I read many a post where guys got substantially discounted S2000s both after a MMC and even later when the larger displacement engine change occured. Remeber this isn't some limited production car or anything.

Lastly, see the LOL part in my post -- that means I wasn't being literal. I was poking fun at the way people keep upping the speculation on the cost difference with new '06. First people said $2k more, then a half day later it was $2.5k more, then later it was to be $3k more. Like I said, I do expect to pay more for a 2006, but I don't think the difference will be as great as '04/'05 owners here are speculating. And I think any differnce I'll end up paying will be recouped when I go to sell my '06 (versus selling an '05).

Now I agree you pay somewhat of a premium to be one of the first several to get a brand new model -- like the S2000, TSX, or RSX "when it first came out". That might even apply when there is a major model revision -- like the 2004 TL, but not for a MMC like the 2006 TSX is getting.

I think that the $ difference that people are speculating in this thread is the result of the loss taken on the whole deal that is mentioned in the first post. If we were to put both MSRPs together (as is) I only think a few hundred difference at most (if not the same exact price). Although, the opportunity costs attributed to the '05 and '06 models are going to be different by a few thousand dollars for this guy.

Congrats on your purchase. I'm sure it's better to enjoy the car now than to wait 4 months instead.

pretty much they are giving u a 20% discount on the body kit and aspec suspension. that 20% discount is given to wholesalers too.

With ur old RSB and anything else. you get ot keep it anyways. if thye dont give it to you .. you should talk to service manager or go to another dealer. You paid for the car .. watever it comes with is yours to begin with. So them telling you that you get to keep those should be a factor in deciding to get an 05 or 06.

Right, they gave me all the options at "cost"... they had a dealer-installed options price sheet and then 2 pages behind it they had the dealer-installed options cost sheet.. they took all the #'s for my sale off the cost sheet... at first they were going off the price sheet and I just said "no way... these are inflated.. I can get this part for blahblahblah at this dealership and that part for blahblahblah" and they guy just said fuck it and pulled out the cost sheet. I got the A-Spec suspension and the Wheel-locks below the price on the "cost sheet" because I had examples of where I could get them cheaper.... and I bitched about all the duplicate labor charges and said there was no way they were charging me to install the wheel locks when the wheels would be on the floor for the A-Spec install.... same with the hour of labor they wanted for the comptech rearsway.. I talked that down to 1/2 hour of labor....

oh and I argued about getting an alignment done.. they said acura didn't require an alignment after an ASpec install because it doesn't throw things out of spec... I said ... so originally they agreed that if it came up in spec I paid the $67.50, if it came up out of spec I didn't pay a thing... after todays "developments" they said the alignment was on the house no matter what.... granted I really think that tomorrow when they do it it'll be out of spec, but whatever....

God I'm so tired from all this crap... I can't wait till I pick it up tomorrow and am done with it all....

man .. good luck .. they will charge u out the ass on labor. Allignment check should be free anyways because it's a dealer option with the a-spec suspension. i can understand them charging you extra for alignment if it's another aftermarket brand.

Personally .. i'd either waited out the 06 or get the 05 and buy all those parts at cost and install myself. most of those are simple to do .. just takes some time. if you really know how to install them .. you should do it. unless the cost of labor per hour is less than what you make per hr .. then u should have them install it. i'm waiting for my warantee to expire then i'm going on a modding spree!!!

It'd be very difficult for me to do the a-spec suspension... the RSB I could handle....

the underbody kit and foglights I'd have to look into, but could probably swing...

at the end of the day I wanted the car to be all set when I got it... ready to go....

I'll be doing the CAI, aux input and new wheels myself or with friends...

If you can afford more than $30,000 and willing to wait for the 2006, than why not get a New LEXUS IS250/350?? Redesigned IS series looks very nice and more upscale than the previous one.

Opinions on L-Finesse (New Lexus' styling)

Hey guys,

IMO, the back of the new GS and IS look amazing. The fronts both look like crap, with the GS topping the crappy scale.

As for your query about getting a 2006 vs a 2005- um, unless you have some photos that we dont, you have no clue what the new model will look like. Why are you choosing between something you like and something you have no clue about? All I can say is the new model information should just make you able to get a better deal on an 05.

I'm sure the 06 will look different than the 05- but if the redesigned front of the Honda Pilot is any indication of Honda's 'interpretation' of 'advancing' their current designs, well -> . And anyways, taking past Acura models as examples, I liked the 00 TL better than the 01, and the 2004 RSX much, much better than the 2005. Don't feel so bad just yet.

In retrospect, yes, you should have waited until this information came out before you went the dealer to buy a car- you knew it was coming out - but you bought the 05 anyways. So what. Be happy with your car. It's a good one.

J.

One benefit of having the dealer install all the options is that they become part of the vehicle's warranty.

Sounds like you're getting a nice car. I wouldn't sweat not waiting for the 06, especially if you plan to hold on to your 05 for more than 4-5 years.

i am gonna disagree....unless you wait till like march 2006....you aint gonna be able to haggle much....unless you know someone working in Acura

we are at the Aug sell......not many people are getting great deal...
(like 4000 dollars off or something-we generally get like 2000 dollars off?)
if you wait till June 2006...I am sure you would get same deal we are getting now + like 300-500 dollars?

Nope, it's just speculation that I started. It would be cheaper for Acura/Honda to just use the Euro R kit (here in the US) rather than develop entirely new side sills and bumpers, but maybe they deemed it to be too aggressive for the average buyer.

For comparison...

2005 TSX

2006 Accord Euro

2004 Accord Euro

I would say that the speculation of the 2006 Accord Euro redesign being the TSX redesign is pretty good.

According to post #18, the deal they're getting a 2006 TSX now is better than the average.

I think that 2006 Euro pic shows the Euro R packed that been available in europe all along, but I still can't help but wonder if that what's going to be the new styling that'll be standard in the US.

I would expect changes to be integrated into the front and rear bumpers, not a kit like the Euro R has.

I picked up the car Wednesday night.... Had a couple rattles in the passenger compartment (a-pillar on the highway, starting at 70 Mph & the passenger door when listening to bassy stuff on the stereo), I'm taking it in next Thursday to have them checked out (although the A-Pillar seems to have settled down)...
