Help! How well can dents and chips be fixed?

I don't know what happened but yesterday when driving along a quiet local street, suddenly I heard a loud noise as if the right side of the car was hit by a heavy object. Then I saw that there was a chip and a little dent near the lower panel of the rear right door. The chip was so deep that it went through the paint and now it's a white spot on my beautiful NHB TSX... :crying:  I guess dents and chips are inevitable on a car, but it's still very sad on a 7 month old car...

Anyway, how well can dents and chips be fixed these days? Will it cost me an arm and a leg? Also, in the mean time, before I can take it to the body shop, is there anything that I need to do to protect that area from rusting or whatever? Please help!

I've had my NHB TSX about 7 months as well and only to come out and find a "door ding" in the side and a scratch through the clear coat. A local place "Carsmetics" did the work for $90. Looks brand new. I can totally relate to your frustration...it was very small but I couldn't help but look at it everytime I walked up to the car.

Thanks, TampaTSX! Did they do that "paintless dent removal" on your car? A local place said they could do that for about $70. I wonder if you had that done too?

Yeah O...it was the paintless dent removal. They popped the dent out and buffed out the scratches. It took about 30 minutes and looks good as new.
