Heated Seats

Will it cause any harm to leave the heated seat switch in the "on" position when shutting down the car and starting it back up? Can I simply leave it "on" without fear of causing any problems? Thanks!

Not a problem at all. The power to the seat heaters isn't on unless the key is turned to the "ON" position.

Actually it reminds me of a great song called "It's all about the pentiums" (great if you are a computer nerd like me). The line is "and posting 'me too' like some brain dead AOL'er".

Im not bashing it by the way, just being a smart a*s. Probably better then most of the posts on Fridays.....

Anyone think this could put a strain on the battery during startup? I've seen other cars that say turn off the A/C before shutting the car off so as not to put too much of a load on the battery when starting next time. Also, the manual is pretty specific about not leaving it on High too long.

Really not sure, just wondering if someone else could confirm/refute.

I think the only way you would put a strain on your battery is if you turn the key to the "on" position and leave it there for a while before starting the car. The normal way of starting that most people do shouldn't put a strain on the battery. What I would be more concerned about would be sending a surge of current through the heating mechanism on startup if it is left on. I always shut off everything before turning off the engine.

I always shut off my heat seaters just out of habit, but they won't put too much load on the battery if you leave them on. They don't require half as much power as the AC does.
