Its a weekend car, permitted the weather is nice and other than that I dont have much free time on my weekdays. In the winter my previous car just sat in the garage with a battery tender which is what I plan to do with this one as well.

Never got around to removing the wipers today though, but I did get my Tein basics and Comptech rear sway bar installed.

Since Im so anal about keeping my car clean I always have a MF towel and a bottle of Poorboys Spray & Wipe (quick detailer) in the trunk just in case I need to clean off a bug or something. In some rare situation that my windsheild was sprayed with so much water from a hydrant leak that it inhibited my capability to drive. I would just pull over and wipe the glass down with my MF towel. I hardly use the wipers in my daily driver Blazer since I keep my windows polished and waxed, the water just glides off.

With what you just posted there, I really think that you shouldn't have bought the car from the beginning. Since the purpose of this car is a "weekend" car, but you don't want to drive it because of potential paint chip. So, how the hell are you going to enjoy your "weekend" car? Just go buy yourself a beater.

This isnt a Ferrari where some are garage queens....if you are planning to sell it, a buyer would really question the very low mileage for a car of this calibre.
If was in the market for a used TSX and I found this guy's car I would run away, $20k car with no mileage = someone that has reprogrammed the CPU . But it really makes no difference he wants his car to look clean, he makes the payments so he will have a wiperless car.

What weather source do you use to get the forecasts?!

I live in the Mid-west too, but the weather forecasts don't really match up sometimes..

I didnt know about the paint chip problem till after I purchased the car and found this forum. I enjoy driving my car locally, its not neccesary for me to be on the highway, farmroads work just fine. I already own a beater, no need for two.

It does look clean, I'll give you that much, still think you're crazy for doing it

Are you going for aftermarket wheels? Still testing waters as far as what looks good on CGP for reasonable $$

I pre ordered a set of Volk TE37 time attacks but I was told they would of been shipped by now so I dont know what the big delay is.

I also like... weds sport tc-005, Work XD9, and the G games sidewinders. If I was going for something cheaper Id probably just get a set of 06 RSX wheels.

I thought the 06 had lower profile wipers to begin with. You'd be hating life in my 04.

Looks clean. Do you drain the washer fluid too? An accidental squirt of the washer fluid may not be fun.

I've done the "dry weather car only" thing, yet I'd never consider taking my wipers off.

I have to admit it looks clean, it'd be great if the wipers were tucked in the cowl and came out when you use them, like a lot of the older American cars were. The '04 wipers are big honkin things sticking up, especially when looking out the windshield.

I'll bet Jtso could weld up a diy wiper-coming-out-of-the-cowl mod.

Heck, I'm just happy that our windshield washer nozzles are tucked under the hood instead of mounted on the hood like two nipples in cold weather.

Why not remove the controls too!!! While at it, remove the motor and the mechanism associated with the wiper system. That'll save you some weight too.

Sorry, I still think that this is a stupid mod for a street car.

Look, it's a fashion (for cars) thing. I think for a show car, SURE, do it. For a road car, NO WAY.

Remember when it was fashionable to remove the laces from your sneakers? Not too practical if you had to run from something, but is looked good at the time. By the way, if you are 16 years old and don't know what "time" I am referring to, it was right around when parachute pants were cool, and break-dancing on a piece of cardboard was wild stuff.

OK, I will crawl back into my cave and never post in this thread again, promise.

I just had a phone conversation with my State Farm agent, where I took the opportunity to pose your issue.

He informed me that it is, in fact, illegal to operate a motor vehicle in illinois sans windshield wipers. Given that, keep up the good work, and try to avoid any roadside safety checks this month before labour day.

there will be a good amount of roadside safety checks in the weekends leading up to labour day, but since wonder-boy here doesn't drive in rain, nor sleet, nor dark of night...no worries, eh?

First of all I live in Indiana, and secondly I find it funny that you guys actually think a cop is going to be looking for my removed wipers.

"So whats with the road block officer?"
-Were on the hunt for criminals operating vehicles with removed wipers and your our number one suspect.
"But Im too young to go to jail"
-Enough out of you wonderboy, hands behind your back.

Its against the law to not have a third brake light but I removed that from my back window of the integra and never had a single problem in 3 years.

runner453, thanks for wasting your time on the phone with your state farm agent and for the genius compliment.

you're a hack. enjoy indiana. If you can't see the cbd from where you live, you don't live *near* the windy city.

anyways, rock on. The whole point of arguing with you is inane, as you are free to do whatever you would like with your money. I suppose you probably have more important things to worry about as you drive through Gary. Don't forgot to lock your doors!
