Has anyone gotten the 3M clear bra?

If you don't get it, you will regret it, mark my words. It is the BEST investment I've made on my car since the day I bought it and I refuse to ever drive a car off of a dealership lot without a clear bra on it. I paid $595 and make sure they use 3M, some of the others are known to discolor.

Do a search...many threads with this.
Mine is a SSM and you can see it from a few feet away, but it still beats the damage that I could have w/out it

was going to buy the clearbra, but purchased the ventureshield "clear bra" instead......more durable material, will not yellow and lifetime warranty.
p.s. they have templates for the apec kit...which i have on my tsx.

I got my 3M custom fit clear bra in May of 06 for $399 and it included front end and side mirrors for a 06 Acura TSX with an OEM A-Spec front spoiler. They cut a large sheet of 3M material from a roll and customed trimmed for a perfect fit. I also paid $49 to include the headlights and fogs for extra protection. The clear bra is 99.9% invisible from the front and about 95% invisible from the top looking down. You can only notice the edge where the protection stops.
The product covers as much as a regular leather bra would, except the grille. You can wash and wax as normal, the vehicle color under the 3M bra will fade normally with the rest of the car. The film will not become discolored/fade being exposed to UV sunlight. The 3M clear bra is custom fitted to the car for a snug fit around edges. Some clear bra manufacturers have pre-cut kits for Acura’s, I don’t know how it would fit with any aftermarket additions to your car. Custom fit worked better for me.
3M has a 5 year warranty against bubbling, peeling and fading. You can also remove or replace the product at any time. The only downside is, don't spray the bra with high-pressure washers. This could cause the bra to peel at the edges (hand wash around bra, low pressure rinse).
I've read a lot of car forums about the 3M bra and no-one had anything negative to say about it (except the price, it goes for about $600-$800 on the east coast). There were quite a few people who put it off until they got their first ding and wish they had it. Any imperfections will show if there are dings from dirt/sand/rocks. They had the car for a full day to put on the clear bra on.
Pics I have are over a year old, I will take more pics this weekend to show the 3M clear bra after 18 months and +20,000 miles in sandy New Mexico.

Get the bra, but don't stop there: also cover your lights and especially your FOGS with the clear, protective film - otherwise the latter will be broken in under 6 months, I guarantee it.
Bra should be <$300 installed; lights were $50 for both, I think another $35 for my fogs, which I didn't cover b/c they were already cracked SIGH.

I think the total I paid was a little under $500 for the front end, headlights and mirrors. I had to wait a couple weeks after getting the car, but the results are well worth the money. The protection is great and you don't need to take the bra off when you wash the car.
Maybe in a few years, I will have the old film removed and new film put back on. At the rate I'm going, I have another 3-5 years left. So far after almost a year, the film has protected the paint like it's supposed to.

I paid $600 for the Front Hood, Front Bumper, Side Mirrors, and Back Bumper. I actually had to do the Front Bumper twice because someone backed into my car. Alot of people dont get the back bumper but you should DEFINITELY consider it. It is more noticeable because it only covers 2/3 of the bumper's height but it is worth it. People can't park for shit in the city.

We got it installed on our "used" 05 TSX. the car already had some minor stone chips. I filled them in as much as i could to just touch up the chip's paint. Then had the 3m tape applied.
We got the entire front bumper, top of the fenders, headlights, hood, and mirror's done for $600. It seems like a lot of money at first, but when I would drive my Prelude on the highway I could see the rocks coming as they hit the car.
And when I washed the car the front of the car was just peppered with stone chips. With the clear tape you stil need to watch the way you drive, not to drive behind big trucks etc. But after a few weeks, of having the tape intalled, I could see a few spots that some small rocks had hit the front bumper, just a slight smudge on the tape but no "CHIP".
I bought some Plasti-X and buffed the tape and all marks of any rocks are gone.
Just for that 1 saved stone chip the $600 was well worth it.
If we ever add the OEM skirt kit to the car, I would not wait before having that wrapped in the 3m tape as well.
The tape is barely noticable, at first. When the car is clean it's easy to see to the tape line across the hood. But anywhere else you really have to get up close to notice. Our installed rolled the edges when he installed the tape on the hood and fenders so it really does look seemless. Rolling the edge takes more time, but our installed doesn't use pre computer cut tape for each car he does. He brings his roll and does everything by hand and blow torch.
We are going to ask him to come back and do the "door handle indents" this might be over kill but the indents already had "nail" marks from people opening the door. I buffed and polished all the light swirls out of the paint so I'd like to keep it looking perfect for as long as I can.
Sorry for the long rant

for EVER more!
I got the ClearBra when i bought my 06 last June. I had it installed 2 weeks later and already had a rock chip in the "chromed" plastic grille. With Florida Lovebugs, they seem to have baked into the bra itself. I think it makes other bugs a lot easier to get off. My clearbra looks streaky right now and i think its because i used bug remover on it. Anyone here have ideas on how to get that stuff off. Makes my clear bra look scratched.
(i have 3M installed by UltraShield of Orlando)

I know it's not an a TSX, but here's the clear bra I got installed on my 07 Accord Coupe EX-L V6 a few weeks back.
It cost $675 and covers the mirrors, the grille, the FULL bumper and up the hood and fenders about 4" past the headlights. It's the third generation 3M Scotchgard PPF.

question about the clear bra... Ive had my 06 TSX almost 2 years now and got my clear bra installed a few weeks after I bought my car. Does anyone know if UV rays go through the 3m plastic? Would the paint show discolor if you remove the bra?
