Has anyone bought a 2008 (new) w/ Nav for <= $27k??

So I've done a fairly exhaustive search throughout Cali to find the last remaining 2008 6MT/Navi cars around, and I've found a small number of dealers with availability (most of them down in SoCal). Now I just need to begin making offers (I hope to make the first one tomorrow). I've scoured this site for pricing information, and outside of the owner sign-in I'm finding little hard evidence of actual recent prices paid (most of the recent price discussion appears to be theoretical). That said, a simple question:

Has anyone actually purchased, without dealer financing and without making a trade-in, a 2008 w/ Nav for $27K or less (before TTL)?

Thanks,
Z.

I just bought my '08 TSX (6MT w/Navi). I made them show me the invoice price of the car off their computer and I made an offer and got it for $500 under invoice price. I paid $28.5K.

Unless a dealer is really desperate.. I don't think you could get a fully loaded TSX for under $27K. BUT.. nothings impossible if you do your homework. Make sure you play a few dealers off of each other during your negotiations..AND if you can, wait till the end of the month to buy (if possible). In many cases, the end of the month is when you'll get the best deals. Thats when the dealerships are more willing to make better deals so they can move a unit off the lot and make any last minute monthly quotas..

Good luck man..

Though I have a manumatic, I paid $28,006 + tax and fees for mine in mid March. The lowest purchase price I recall seeing was somewhere in the $27,700 range + tax.

price is not what's important.

OTD price is.

in Cali, the OTD price can be like $4000 over the "price" you pay.

anyway, new '08 Nav for 27K? no. never happen.

it's a $31,000 car. with no big shortage of demand either.

I paid $32,000 OTD for mine last December.

Correction to the above statement......the OTD price is approx 9.1% to the price of a new car in Calif. My $28,006 purchase price was $30,526 OTD.......$2,520 in taxes and fees.

Add'l correction as my alloted time expired for editing.....

The purchase price is very important, as taxes and fees vary from state to state and not everyone knows what those figures and percentages are. Measuring the OTD price for a car in Calif will not be the same as the OTD price for a car in Ga. The OTD price is approx 9.1% to the price of a new car in Calif. My $28,006 purchase price was $30,526 OTD.......$2,520 in taxes and fees. FYI, in Calif, the sales tax rate varies depending upon where you live, but suffice it to say its close to 8%. Dealer doc fee is $55 (non negotiable and set by law), tire fees are $8.75 (recycling fee applied to any 4 tire purchase)and the registration/licensing fee are based upon the price of the car. It happens to be $243 for my $28,006 car.

I agree that price before TTL is what matters when I'm deciding how much to offer, as the other costs are regionally variable. Aleajactest, your $27.5k purchase is encouraging, and appears to be the lowest price anyone has reported in the forums! Do you mind sharing where you're located?

First Post!
I picked mine up at Stevens Creek Acura for 30.5 out the door. They also threw in all season mats, wheel locks, cargo tray, splash guards, and door visors, and last but not least an acura cap. I just picked it up from dealership last Saturday.

Oh yea, Manual w/ Navi, no trade, no finance, just plain ol' cash

I just bought an new 08 AT carbon gray metallic with navi for $28,200 OTD (about $26,100 for the car before TTL). I was pretty happy and didn't think I could get it any lower but seeing $27,500 makes me think it would have been doable.

Anyway I'm happy, I walked in to my dealer wanting him to get me a Royal Blue from another dealership in the area made an offer of 28,900 OTD and was told they'd sell me one of their two remaining on the lot for that price, either carbon gray or red. I put on an act (well partially true) that RBM was my first choice and I didn't really want the other colors unless it was significantly less, like 28,000. Carbon gray had been my third choice. He said that was a bit low I said 28,100. He came back said the manager said 28,450. I said 28,200 and he said "my manager really wants to sell the car, so he'll do it for 28,200." I probably could have gotten it for a bit less but I'm still happy.

Also the competition in SoCal should help you get a better price. There are 4 dealerships in the DC area, surely you'll have more. Though the 6 speed being rare could hurt your odds. Good luck!

Thanks for all the responses! This is really good data, and I'm thinking that $27.5 looks like the right number for a take-it-or leave-it offer. Let's see how it goes...

Terpfan, you and DMilly seem to have gotten phenomenal deals at $26-and-change+TTL! It looks like out here in the West $28+TTL seems more the norm.

I did make a take-it-or-leave-it offer at $27+TTL today, but it was countered at $28.5+TTL (dealer down in SoCal, originally asking $29.5+TTL). I'll try another one tomorrow...

There are a couple non-navi 2008's left at the dealerships aound me in MI. The salesmen I talked to offered a price of $25,800 for these, without any negotiating at all on my part. With that in mind, if you can find one with navi still available in your area, it seems like $26K to $26,500 before TTL is certainly within reach (I got $26,200).

It helps to play a couple dealerships against each other if you can, because I think they really want to get the 2008's off their lots.

Maybe I need to take a trip out to Michigan (I actually need to go there in any case...) :-). Long (and boring) drive home, though, especially at break-in speeds!

Seriously, though, I think you're right about trying $26.5K.

$29,540 is a deceptive number, since Or has no sales tax.....its not meant to rain on your parade, just to make an OTD purchase price apples to apples with what everyone is paying with sales tax added on. Enjoy your PWP as we are doing with ours!

Anything over 29K OTD is rediculous. I kind of feel like I could have gotten atleast another 500 off, but am happy to have had the car. I wonder if now that we are in a new month they are being less aggressive to sell the car. That's one of the reasons I went Friday to close the deal.

I paid 27500 a month ago at Gunn acura in San Antonio for my white 08 auto w/nav. OTD was 29,400. We almost got it for 27200 at a different dealer but it fell through.

I wish we had a standing rule on this forum that people didn't quote out the door numbers. That "out the door" figure means so many things in different counties, states, dealerships, etc.... When people ask what they bought the car for, it should just be quoted what the actual car was BEFORE taxes, fees, registration, accessories, etc... It would make things so much easier and clearer.

Haven't bought yet, but today I've been quoted $26.9K + TTL (w/ Navi, without any negotiation) by two Bay Area dealers. Unfortunately they only have automatics in stock :-(. Looks like the dealers are finally dumping the '08s... As soon as I get <$27K w/ 6MT I'm all over it... Z.

Just got a (non-negotiated) quote for $26.4K (w/Navigation)! If anyone here in the Bay Area wants navigation + auto transmission, it looks like now is the time to buy!

haha, yea I think I might have picked up the last 6MT w/ navi in NorCal....

I went to the Autowest Acura in Stevens Creek, and they did a dealer-trade with Marin Acura for my car to get me 30.5k otd(approx 27.5+TTL) using Sacramento's tax rate (which in turn got me a free acura cap! lol).

If you haven't yet, you can give'm a call and ask for Brian or John (They didn't charge me extra for the transpo of the car either + I got a crap load of free accessories.)

Their number is (408)247-7422

haha small world. It would've been better if marin had sold it to you... i think they felt guilty and might've given me a 2009 at 32k otd to make up for it. That's how i got the door visors and splash guards free.

I don't think the door visor and the splash guards look that great. That was probably why it was free.

I actually asked for the door visors. the splash guards they tossed in. I wanted them for my DA in the past, but they were ridiculously overpriced. If anything, I can just unclip them and sell them, so shrug*
