Handsfree Battery Drainage Lawsuit

I was emailed from Carcomplaints an article that someone is going after Honda for the HandsFree Battery Drainage in their 2008 MDX.

I know some forum members had issues with their Bluetooth causing the drainage so it will be interesting to see what becomes of this. I did have to replace my alternator at 75,000 miles which for me seems like a very low mileage to replace it complared to any of my previous Honda/Acura. I don't know if I had a abnormal alternator, cheaper made one or a result of this. My battery has been replaced twice now but it is also a 2007.

Having recently discovered that this is what is killing my batteries, I just want a replacement HFL that fixes the issue. 3 batteries in 7 years in my 06 TSX and the current one is just about dead but might limp it along now that I disconnected the HFL.

Anyone have a link to a thread or two on here detailing people's experiences with this? Any way to test if the HFL is the problem short of disconnecting it?
