You can't even find an '05 around here in Chicago for anywhere near that. Good job!

I don't know, but I personally like having the piece of mind with an extended warranty. I had it on my previous car, and it paid for itself 3 times over during the lifespan of the car. I got my 05 used and already certified through Acura, so I didn't have to pay extra for the warranty.

And the whole window etching thing, I had that done on my parents previous car. I don't think it is so much of a theft deterrent, but it gave a discount through our AIG insurance. It wasn't much but, it was something. The discount that the ins co gave us, was far more than the cost of the etching procedure. They etched a code (that wasn't the VIN, it cross references your VIN in their database) on all of the windows. The nice thing about the window etching was the guarantee that came with it. If your car was stolen they gave you "x" amount of dollars in addition to what the ins co would give you.

Lucky I guess

I did do some research online on invoice pricing and so forth. Then, I contacted a few dealers to see what type of pricing they offer. Once I had a decent offer, I emailed only the pricing info to the other dealers so they knew what they had to beat to earn my business. After a couple of days, I realized my best offer as the other two dealers could not match the price. Plus, my dealer gave me the added wheel locks, trunk tray, and mud guards at cost. I suppose based on my paperwork that everyone gets free oil changes. The dealer also managed to give me more dealer discount coupons that are on top of their regular advertised service pricing and a couple of tickets to Disneyworld.

Let me know what you guys think. Crazy thing is I traded in two cars to lower my overall payments and insurance and the dealer paid off one of my cars completely without even seeing it for a trade in. Maybe they were desperate to get rid of their last 06 TSX on the lot.

Input?
