In Houston, you can check out Sterling McCall Lexus body shop. They do pretty good body work and paint work. Also Momentum Dealership Paint and Body were reccomended, but Ive never seen thier work. Sunrise automotive does work for Sterling McCall Acura.
Ive had a couple of cars painted by Sport Performance in Stafford. Awesome clearcoat from them. I swear the paint looks like its going to drip off the car, car always looks polished without any polish or wax. Outshined any new car on a dealership showroom floor. Reasonably priced. Paint might not match up perfectly, but a complete paintjob is worth it from these guys.
I was considering getting my TSX clearcoated by these guys just because Ive seen it on dark colors. However the labor would have been a complete paint job: wet sand, paint, clear. Not to mention I had the clear bra put on immediately after delivery, so no chance of taking off a $600 investment, painting $1,400, then a new clear bra $600.

i am just wondering...if i go to the Lexus bodyshop
will they overcharge me?

Yeah the clear coat they use is way more glossy than anything stock. They painted the front bumper of my cousin's 2004 Navigator and you can really tell it apart from the rest of the truck. Yes it all shines when washed and waxed, but the gloss and depth on the bumper really stands out up close about 3-4 feet away. From a distance of more than that it is hard to tell to an untrained eye.
A professional body person or paint person would spot the difference from a mile away though.
They painted a civic show car of mine about 3 years ago. I could just wash the thing and enter it into a show and it would be at least as glossy as a car that was professionally detailed (multi coats of polish, gloss, and wax) for 5 hours next to it. It made people sick. A coat of polish and wax just gave it a lot more depth and gave the dark color a little more richness, and made it really slick.
