Is this a good deal?
2006 Acura TSX
Excellent condition! Only 3000 miles. Nighthawk black exterior 6 speed manual transmission. Loaded plus Cargo Tray, Wheel locks, all season mats and Protection Package. Near full warranty.
$24,000
Is the protection package some sort of rust proofing package?
Thanks guys!

If the seller is referring to the same protection package that Acura advertises, it's just the trunk tray, wheel locks, and splash guards. So in addition to what he has already talked about, it's just the splash guards.

Is this a dealers car or private individual? I would be a little apprehensive because of the 6MT....you don't know how it was driven or if it was broken in properly especially if it's dealer 's car. You know how hard those demos are driven from day 1.

It was the ladies brothers car. He bought it and then found out he had cancer, he passed away shortly after. It's a pretty good deal, but with the financing available to me right now with it being a used car I can get a new one cheaper, I just found that out yesterday. So I'm picking up my brand new 06 friday from the dealer. 26,100 I had another dealer offer me their demo for 25,500 or their navi six speed for 27,005. But I decided to save the 900 and put it towards some nice wheels.

glad you got the new one but you are definitely going to regret not getting the navi. i would save and get the nice rims later...the navi is worth it. just ask the other people on this board..

Sorry if I hijacking this thread but I need to find out info from the Americans out there (and it sort of asks a similar type question)...
Looking into buying a US 2006 TSX. New from the dealership (end of year clear out)
Base TSX -- they're asking US$25,500 before taxes, license, admin
I realize the invoice says US$26,000 (at least on Yahoo Autos it says)
What deals have people been finding on clearance? I plan on going to the dealership tomorrow and make the deal (ie end of month ... they may be more willing to negotiate to meet sales targets)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Final price, $25,100. I told him i would get it if he took off the dealer tag, the PA stickers on the windshield, a full tank of 91 octane (i'm guessing all dealers do this anyway?), and cleaned it all up.. i shoulda pressed for all-season mats but ah well.

Car = US$25,500 = C$29300 (assuming 15% exchange rate)
transport = US$200 = C$230 <- this is to get to Windsor, ON
import tax (6.1%) = C$1787
GST (7%) = C$2170 (assuming C$31 000)
PST (8%) = C$2480
-----
To get it past Customs = C$36 000
RIV inspection = C$100 (i'm guessing that's what Crappy Tire would charge)
e-test = C$35
plates = C$29
sticker = C$69
----
On the road = C$36 300
--------------------
Canadian MSRP of a TSX = C$38000 before any taxes, freight, admin fees, license, etc!

Wait unitl the END of the month and guy right before the dealership closes on that day. In order to get my price, I had to drive to FL (live in GA) - cheapest I can get in GA on similar car was 27K. FL is the state to buy cars!!
Good luck.

how do you get 100k warranty out of that?
the bumper to bumper is 4yr/50k (from date car was made or first purchase not sure which one) and certified is an additional 12mo/12k

Wow. keep us posted on how this works out Derrick. Sounds like some work but saving 5K will be well worth it.
