Good Bye !
Sorry to go but I sold my 04 TSX. I loved the car and it was pure pleasure to drive and a good looking car. It had 90K + miles when Carmax offered me a KBB at "excellent" trade-in value so I sold it and but a BMW 335i coupe. Thanks guys for all your advices and tips. It's been great but I am sad to say I am moving on.

Based upon reviews, and specs, I like the 3 Series, except for:
1) Run flat tires (RFT)
2) Small trunk space
3) iDrive
4) Gas milage on the 335 (328 is okay)
5) Maintenance costs after warranty expires
6) Low roof line making entry and exit difficult
7) Cost -- especially with a few "must have" options
8) Too much power, and acceleration, on the 335 -- makes speeding too easy
9) No dip stick -- thus, unable to check oil level in a traditional manner
10) Cup holders
Is the steptronic on the center console like 1st Gen TSX -- or only on paddles? If not on console, then:
11) No center console mounted manual shifter (steptronic).
Otherwise, it seems to be an excellent car for a driver. Most of those that have bought one say they would buy another.
No. I haven't driven one. The list above excludes it from consideration -- thus, no need to test drive one.
Enjoy your new car.

Based upon reviews, and specs, I like the 3 Series, except for:
1) Run flat tires (RFT)
2) Small trunk space-Trunk space isn't all that bad on the E90
3) iDrive-I SERIOUSLY don't understand people's disdain towards iDrive. It's a fairly intuitive system, and if you know how to use a computer you can use iDrive. The 09 E90 has an updated iDrive system which should be "easier" to use.
4) Gas milage on the 335 (328 is okay)-17/26mpg isn't all that bad considering the level of performance you get. Hell, I get worse city mileage in my TSX because I have to step on the gas pedal with a decent amount of pressure to accelerate "normally"
5) Maintenance costs after warranty expires-true
6) Low roof line making entry and exit difficult-I've yet to drive the E92, but the E90 does not suffer from this.
7) Cost -- especially with a few "must have" options-"Must have" is a broad term, but in terms of enthusiasts, most will agree that Sport Package is the only "must have" for the 335i.
8) Too much power, and acceleration, on the 335 -- makes speeding too easy-Is this a con? haha
9) No dip stick -- thus, unable to check oil level in a traditional manner
10) Cup holders
Is the steptronic on the center console like 1st Gen TSX -- or only on paddles? If not on console, then:-07+ have both paddle and center console, I believe.
11) No center console mounted manual shifter (steptronic).
Otherwise, it seems to be an excellent car for a driver. Most of those that have bought one say they would buy another.
No. I haven't driven one. The list above excludes it from consideration -- thus, no need to test drive one.-I think you should consider test driving one; I'm sure your list would be much shorter.

After owning my E92 335i for 5 mth now, here is my comment on your finding
Yup and welcome to the keep on replacing fuel pump world
Based upon reviews, and specs, I like the 3 Series, except for:
1) Run flat tires (RFT)They are truly sucks and a truly scam
2) Small trunk spaceI dun care since I still have my TSX
3) iDriveAnother truly sucks! map sucks! POI sucks! screen sucks, I really wish they can put an 6yr old TSX navi over there
4) Gas milage on the 335 (328 is okay)who care mileage on a 335? but actually, it wasn't that bad at all, just 15% more than TSX
5) Maintenance costs after warranty expires???? I say even under warranty! this sucker need to fix more than drive, for me time is money
6) Low roof line making entry and exit difficultI dun care, style & status over everything
7) Cost -- especially with a few "must have" optionsalmost all standard option on TSX is extra in BMW, we all got spoiled by Honda. For me idrive is a must since w/o idrive the interior looks worst than a hyundai
8) Too much power, and acceleration, on the 335 -- makes speeding too easyI dun agree at all! the damn heavy car is exterme slow when below 2000rpm and will break down when over 4000rpm, so how can you go fast?
9) No dip stick -- thus, unable to check oil level in a traditional mannerwho cares when this sucker is only for look
10) Cup holderswho allow to drink coffee in my furniture
Is the steptronic on the center console like 1st Gen TSX -- or only on paddles? If not on console, then:
11) No center console mounted manual shifter (steptronic).drive an auto bimmer look so limb
Otherwise, it seems to be an excellent car for a driver. Yes, if it didn't break down more often than a Ford Most of those that have bought one say they would buy another.Yes, since MB & Audi are even more worst

BTW, sorry to the OP about the rant! my "engine malfunction, reduced power" light just came out again yesterday. It has been 4 times in 2 month. I am really really pissed! At least my old E46 didn't show any engine problem on its first year. So the 335i is still a nice looking car but dun expected it has better quality than TSX. my 5yr old TSX still drive smoother, shift smoother. But FWD is still a FWD, 4 banger is still a 4 banger (but a very good 4 banger which the inferior inline 6 from the 328i should feel shame).
There are still some nice things about the 335. I love the usb plug for MP3, I love the bluetooth integration with the idrive, I love the M3 steering wheel retorfit, love I the huge brake look in stock, love the deep dish look on the rear wheel, love the BMW assist that tow truck always ready when you need them(yes, you really need this on a BMW, from my past 10yr experience with BMW, you need tow 4 times a year) and of course love the looks of it!

I wanted a 03+ BMW 330i or 325i before I bought a TSX. Raced 325i last sat and beat it I do not regreat, but 335i is a totally different story. My friend owned 1. It is quick and nice all around.

Not an Ashtray
Consumer Reports rates the 3-series "much better than average" in reliablity. Meanwhile, my supposedly hyper-reliable TSX just suffered its second A/C failure in 82,000 miles. The A/C died completely at 70,000, was replaced by Acura entirely, and began making the same strange noises a few days ago.
oh, and I ordered a 3-series too and will be unloading my TSX as soon as the Bimmer hits the docks.

I was going to buy a used E46 bimmer before I decided to just buy a new TSX. I only know a few people with bimmers, and they've all complained about reliability issues..I didn't want to deal with unexpected repair costs since I'm buying a new house soon.
Still, they're hot cars and if money wasn't an object I'd have one.
