Was goin to get a TSX but got this..

Hey guys, Im been lurking on here for awhile researching and reading about my 03' TL-S and was thinking of trading it in for a new TSX. I love the car exterior as well as interior. So after about a month of internet studying , I had free time and went to the dealer for a test drive. Oh man , not so used to with a 4 cylinder and I dont want another TL(even though my bro have one already). But everything is awesome. I said the hell with it and pull the trigger. Sat down and made an offer $28,500( which is fair , around 500 over invoice AT, nav) , dealer cant even knock off a $1 and said $30,500 is it(not trading, going to sell my car outright). I walked out and went home since theres no other dealer for another 200 miles away. I was quite disappointed in myself because I was anxious to get this car home.

A week later, after sorting out my other alternative. Hit the Infiniti dealer and got this @ INVOICE

Im not trying to brag or offend anyone on here. The TSX was my first choice but I just cant justify paying over $30k for a 4 cylinder. The G is alot of fun.

good choice

every since my first car i havent been driving a coupe... definitely miss the 2 door
Personally I appreciate the convinience of a 4 door too much to give it up... if i ever get a coupe it'll be my secondary car or something

You made the right choice. You're still young and probably don't have a family yet so the convenience of a 4 door shouldn't be a big issue.

Congrats on the G. I would have gotten one but my parents said no to the power and the price. Good luck with it!

Nice G.

What model year is that?
The new ones have different rims, if I recall correctly.

good for you, gobs of power - certainly makes TSX eat dust
but to me, the 350 exterior looks nice for about few minutes then =

THanks guys,

I have no kids yet so the coupe is ok for me.

psteng19: Its an '06 with Performance wheels package. The other rim your reffering to is the Sports tuned pkg, which I didnt like much.

NICE!!! The G35 Coupe was my first love....until I actually test drove one...suspension too stiff for my taste and the ride wasn't that comfy. But it's the sexiest car in the market right now. I still try to follow one whenever I see it on the highway so I can stare at it. Congrats!!!

Congrats on your G35. They are very nice and I was considering one when I was car shopping. The TSX was more bang for the buck........

Grats..I was going to get one ($500 abouve cost) but the cost on fuel was $$$. My cousin and her husband got one instead of a TSX few months ago and they regret it because it sucks thier wallet dry from fuel costs.

I wonder what the new coupe will look like next year? The 4 door looks amazing. A cross between a M35/45 and the current G.

Congrats. It's a great car. I rode in my friend's and i love the seats, so comfortable. I hated the navi though, and the fact you can't really operate it while driving p'd me off too! Also, consumes a lot of gas, and at $3+ per gallon, not where i want to be right now!

I got it for $34,700 pre-tax. Its an AUTO, I know, its my daily commute car. Its quick enough out of the box for me.

The new coupe wont be out until 07' or 08, and I cant wait that long because who knows when my TL tranny(110k) will break down.

As far as fuel consumption, I cant tell any difference between the TL-S and the G. Well maybe the G consumes a bit more since I ve been having some FUN with it.

i don't understand the "performance wheel and tire package" from infiniti. the stock 18's/19's on the newer g-coupes are forged. those are not. not to mention those came stock on the older g-coupes. i wouldn't take them for free over the new wheels, let alone pay extra money for them. it's a hot car though

Thing is dealers dont understand, when a customer leaves the store, the customer will go to another brand, in this case Infiniti, rather than another Acura dealer.

I felt the same way and cross shopped Infiniti, Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, etc. But then I saw their prices for similar equipment (except for 6-cylinders and RWD) and thought Acura was a bargain.

Enjoy your car, its really nice.

Great buy that was actually my second car of choice, the e46 being first and the tsx being 3rd =P.

Finanaces ended up leaving me with the TSX, but hell I'm having a blast with it, but I sure wish I had RWD and 300hp to the crank.. stock..

Infiniti is kinda wierd when it comes to it's options. The 06 sedan comes standard with 17" 6 spoke rims. The "performance wheel and tire package" comes with 18" 7 spokes. The "Sport tuned suspension" comes with the Rays forged 19" rims. Alot of people think the 19"s are standard, but they are not. Infiniti always show ads with the 19"s and the whole site is covered with pics of the car with the 19"s, to add to the confusion, most dealerships carry coupes with the package already and trying to get a base coupe is nearly impossible.

When I went in to get a G35 sedan, i saw some 06 sedans with the 6 spokes and said to myself "why do these 06 have 05 rims" because from the infiniti website I was expecting the sedans the come standard with the 5 spokes. After talking to the salemen it became clear the all cars seen on the infiniti website are the fully loaded ones with the sport package...

Reason I opted the navi on the TSX was because it has the voice recognition which the coupe didnt offer. And for me to get the navi on the Infiniti ,I have to get everything(loaded) which is about closed to $40k. So which wasnt worth it for me.

Sweet ride. 6-speed (only g35 I'd ever drive) was too rich for my wallet. I kinda like having 4 doors after driving 2 doors for so many years. That car is fire!!!

you can't really compare the g35 and tsx side by side, although its a nice car. i have a few friends who had g35s but they got rid of them pretty quick.

I stopped by the Infinity dealer before I got my TSeX. It was in April and they had like 12 G35s from the previous year on the lot brand new and they were pretty much giving them away(or trying). I think Acura may have had (1) 05TSX left on the lot in Jan of 06. You can get deals on Nissans/Infinity all day long! Acura hardly budges on their price for a reason. Thats the same reason they sell all of their current models by the end of the year.

If Infinity still had 12 cars left over from the previous year in April, how many do you think they had in January? Like I said, Acura had 1.

Congrats on your new car. Those G35s are def hot though.

Nissan struck gold with this one. Congrats.

Too bad Honda doesn't have the gonads to return to the field with a proper coupe.
