GM Horn Spec?

I love my TSX, but the horn sounds too domestic.

I only need alittle beep when I lock the doors, not some sloppy loud BEEEEEEPPPP. Everybody in a 1/4 mile radius can hear it.

Way too loud.

Plus the horn button on the steering wheel is way too sensitive. I have sounded the horn several times, just going for different hand positions, and everybody around me looks at me like "what is this morons problem?"

Thats it. Otherwise the car is practically perfect.

The first problem can be solved by pressing the lock button once.

I usually do, but sometimes I can't look back to see if it really happened by watching for the lights, because I have a kid in 1 arm and bags in the other arm.

While I am at it, I wish it would let me lock the car, before all the doors are closed. I know they are thinking in terms of locking keys in the door, but I am thinking in terms of kid in one arm and bag full of stuff in other arm. It would be nice to "pre-lock" so I just close the door and walk away.

1) Open door
2) Pull on inside door handle
3) Lock doors.

Yeah, Fu Muh Shoo (or whatever his name is) is right. If you pull on the inside drivers door handle and hit lock it should work. Kindaofa Honda quirck.

I still don't get it.

1. I pull drivers interior door handle to get out.
2. I close drivers door, from outside.
3. I walk around to read door.
4. I open the rear door, from outside handle.
5. I grab kid out of kid seat with 1 arm.
6. I grab kids backpack, etc... with other arm.
7. I close rear door from outside.
8. Both arms are now full and I have to set something down on the wet snowy ground so that I can hit the lock button on a key fob.

What I want to be able to do is insert a step 4.5 that would allow me to lock the doors, before I pick up the kid and her stuff, so I can simply close the door and it is already locked.

Is this what you guys are telling me I can do???

No, you have to have the drivers door open and pull the interior door handle on it and hit the lock button on the door. That means that the other doors must be opened before you hit lock. Does that help any??

Don't do this guys. There is a mechanism that stops the driver door from being locked when it is open and if you use this method you will mess up the lock. I'm not sure if this system is the same as my 1991 accord but I'm assuming it is similar. A few years back i started doing this method because i was too lazy to lock it with the key from outside. So just a couple weeks ago i go to the car and unlock the door. The little lock tab popped up as usual but when i pulled the handle it wouldn't open. I opened up the passenger side door but i couldn't open the driver door from the inside either. All other doors were fine just the driver side messed up. I had to use the passenger door to get in and out for a week and it cost over $600 canadian to repair it from the dealer. I had no idea it would cost that much. About 300 for the parts and another 300 for labor.

Does it say anywhere in the manual that you can do that?
1) Open door
2) Pull on inside door handle
3) Lock doors.
Because if it doesn't then i suggest you don't lock your car like that.

I think I get what you are saying.

Do you hold the door handle in the open position as you lock the doors?
