Glovebox rattle!

Hello,

I've tried the whole felt thing, but I'm still getting that annoying glovebox rattle, and it's driving me NUTS! Anyway, I just called Acura and will be taking my car in Monday.

I know that this is a common issue with the TSX and TL's, and I was just wondering if people have had successful results with the dealership fixing this rattle on their TSX when they took it in? If so, what did they do to remedy the problem?

Thanks much!

I know you've already said you've tried felt, but where did you put felt? For me, lining the inside edges of the hole that the damper arm slides through did the trick. Before that, the dealer tried twice to locate the rattle but never found the source.. (not that they were looking anywhere near the damper arm).

I had a "jingle" sound in my glovebox. I used felt on everything, but I still couldn't get it to disappear. Took my car into the dealership and they replaced the entire glovebox because the jingle was actually caused by something inside the glovebox itself. Somewhere in the plastic lining. Talk about weird...

That is odd! I actually ended up taking my car to the dealership this morning. I ended up going for a drive with the Master Tech. We both heard the sound, and originally he was going to replace the glovebox.

However, he ended up taking the box apart, and put felt under all of the screws and bolts that are involved with the glovebox. Anyway, so far I haven't heard the rattle again, but I will post back if I do.

Lastly, the Service Manager told me that if the rattle does come back, they're just going to replace the glovebox. So, let's see what happens!
