Glitches in range of miles???
Ive been getting glitches lately on my 06 tsx.
For example:
I put a full tank of gas. When i look at the range of miles it started at 400+ and then it automatically dropped to 320 miles when i just drove about 10 miles.
Anyway to fix this?

That's not a glitch. The system is constantly adjusting based upon your driving. You'll notice that the projected range will extend itself if you drive in a very conservative fashion and will decrease if you drive aggressively. Nothing to worry about and certainly nothing that needs fixing.

quick question, sort of related to that. i used to reset the dash trip meter (in between the tach and speedo) when i refilled, but at that time, the ~350 miles on the dash would read like 352 or 348 on the computer trip/mileage thing in the nav screen. what gives for the discrepancy?

^like he said.
the trip computer only gives you a ballpark range of your fuel economy and range. it changes based on the way you drive. it is NOT an accurate way of determining how far you can drive, but in most cases, it serves it's purpose well. just don't rely on it 100%

Imagine the satellites orbiting above the earth. The satellites are assuming that all of the roads are completely flat and that there's no hills or grades or anything. So the satellites will measure the physical distances from point A to point B. However, your odometer will measure the distance by how many times the wheels have turned. Or... ACTUAL driving distance.

Quick followup question on the computer's projection of miles remaining before you run empty...
I drove on a tank where the average MPG when I filled up (at the end) came out at 29.2 - my trip odometer, reset at the last fill-up read 396. My miles-to-go came up at close to 0 (low gas indicator on, etc.) Based on this information, I assumed that I would take 13.6 gallons of gas at my fill-up. (Given that the car has a 17.1 gallon tank, why was I getting low gas warnings at this point? Is the rest just reserve?)
Anyway, I ended up putting 14.4 in the car - which seemed surprising. My estimated miles-to-empty (after this fill-up) was 421 - which equals the 29.2 I had on the pior tank multiplied by the 14.4 I took. Could the discrepency be as simple as that I just didn't have a full tank when I previously reset my trip odometer??
