THe reason I put 93 octane in my car is because no gas station around here offers any less in their premium pumps.

In addition, I read an article some time ago that mentioned 96 octane in a factory RSX increasing performance, and that these engines were made for the higher octane performance fuels in Japan. Is it just possible that you are mistaken, and that a slightly higher octane does indeed make a difference? Strait racing fuel I agree could cause a performance decrease due to the lead, but there has to be a plateau and I know it is not 91 octane. I'm just trying to reach the plateau. Next you are going to tell me that CAI makes no difference in performance. I'll tell you what. My 5AT with Comptech CAI and one gallon 112 octane fuel mixed with 15 gallons 91 octane vs your 6MT stock with 91 octane alone in the quarter mile. Try it, measure it, or STFU.

Wait...what's that smell....Oh, it's just a troll.

Also remember that US Octane rating does not equal ROW octane.

In cleveland we have 3 options....87, 89, and 93 (unless you count sunoco which has 94 as well)

So our TSX's only get the 93

Note I also mentioned a fuel system cleaner to remove buildup, and not to use it often. One gallon every third or fourth fill will not do anything if you clean in between. If your are worried that much about the environment, ride a bike. I'm sure you recycle, eat organic, and use natural cleaning products too. You might want to think about not eating beef or dairy products, as cows produce more ozone-damaging methane gas per year in this country than all cars on the road. Get over it.

That smell is the lead from my exhaust as my 5 SS screams past your 6.

I don't care really care if you have your catalytic converter sitting in your garage, in your kitchen, or in your bathroom. I DO care that you recommended to people here that they try leaded gasoline in their TSX without mentioning the possible damage that could result to their converter. That, my friend, is exceedingly lame.

Why the hell are you trying to race a 5AT anyway? are you one of those people who is fascinated with racing but never even learned how to drive a stick? Everyone knows that the AT's on our cars on hondas and acuras are horrible for that. Maybe you should get a car with tiptronic

And how much are you putting down on this?

I'm on. And I will pwn you. Big time.

-sauceman, who has already won against a 6MT with a CAI...

Ok, jmf, cut the crap. If you want to discuss your racing gas thing, keep it to the thread you started. If not, you will be considered a troll by me. (In fact I see you already are by others). You are getting your first warning by PM. With neg rep as well.

Leaded gas was used in the old muscle cars for the octane boost as well as to coat the valve seats and thus preventing wear. That's why Lead additives are still sold...
Due to our TSX engines being designed strictly for unleaded gas only, the only thing it'll do for your car after the slight gain in horsepower is to kill your catalytic converter and your O2 sensor. Both of which are necessary for your engine to function correctly and are also expensive to replace.

i'd take that bet in a second too. The point is even if the fuel did help, you would need the CAI to get closer speeds to the 6MT. Why not just get it in the first place? I don't give a if you put plutonium and a flux capacitor in your AT. No fuel will make the AT faster than the 6MT. should i bend over now, or wait till you get your ass kicked?

Just must be that Kansas thought....

Ha ha, I knew I read the threads with blatantly dumb topics for a reason... "Ultra High Octane Racing Fuel in the TSX"... Just goes to show you that some states don't have a strict enough testing process to get a drivers license...

Ok boys and girls, I think we've had enough fun with this thread.

Unless you are driving a white car with orange stripes and the word "Realtime" on the side, stick to pump gas.
