First Road Trip with TSX

I managed to get 567 break in miles on our TSX before we left on our annual xmas trip to Tucson, Arizona to see my parents.

We put 2564.9 miles on and spent 44 hours 32 minutes in the car. Gas mileage for the trip as reported by the car was 32 mpg, actual gas mileage was 28.65 mpg. Average speed was 64 mph, that includes lots of cruising in state parks to hiking trails, overlooks, etc and in town cruising in Tucson. No oil usage.

Speed limit along the Mexican border around El Paso is 85 So you can FLY until you get to a Border Patrol check anyway

The TSX is wonderful for road tripping. Very comfortable. We Loved the XM and Navi.

Our route was Tulsa - OKC - Odessa - El Paso - Las Cruces - Tucson - Las Cruces - Roswell - Amarillo - Tulsa.

Here's our TSX at Spring Canyon in New Mexico:

The TSX is perfect for cruising on the HWY. Comfortable ride, plenty of torque, excellent gas mileage, and XM to keep you entertained for hours. Next time you can make a loop and hit Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Gallup, Flagstaff/Sedona (Grand Canyon area), Prescott and Phoenix. That is worth the drive!

The only thing bad about the traveling in the southwest is the bugs, dust and sand. A clear bra or regular bra is a must if you don't want your front end sand blasted or jacked up with bugs.

Good idea. I'd love to go through Santa Fe & Flagstaff.

We were going to go Amarillo to Albuquerque then down, but there was lots of snow forecasted for both Albuquerque & Amarillo so we hooked south quicker than normal. I've been on that stetch of road after a blizzard before. Nightmare.

Yeah I'm trying to figure out what to do about a bra or clear bra. We drive to northern Minnesota every spring/early summer. Drive the Great River Road along the Mississippi from St. Louis on up. One year the bugs were so bad the front of my 200SX looked like a pizza

did my first trip in my TSX over the holidays as well. reported mileage 32mpg and change.

no real issues except for some nice and small chips in my windshield right in my field of view and a paint chip on my hood.
