Finally have my RBP with Parchment, with some preliminary pics and impressions.

Some preliminary first impressions. I don't know much yet, gonna read the manual, try to get my Homelink working. And one day, i'll hit the gas to push it to higher speeds....

We think we got the homelink set, be home later to test it.

Girlfriend....Hasn't settled in yet that she has a new car. She was tired and cranky last night, and we both drove it very slowly. Pathetic to drive such a car at such speeds.

"Wow, the blue looks even better than i thought!"

"These HID lights are incredible and I will never buy another vehicle without them." (stole this from Excited, but SO TRUE)

"The dash is sooooo sweet"

When I first drove away in the TSX I thought that the seats felt a little firmer than I remembered in the test drive car, but I didn't think that they were too firm. (i also agree here with Excited, havent taken it for a second spin yet...)

Love the Dimming mirror, how did i live without this? I kept playing with it, blocking the lights with my hand, than moving, and letting it dim again. SO COOL.

Set up bluetooth right away, everyone i called commented on how clear it is. Voice Commands had trouble recognizing my girlfriend's commands, but we'll teach it.

The stereo is very crisp using XM and CDs. Only thing i'm confused on, and will try to read about is, the controls on the steering wheel can't seek, or am i just stupid and not pressing it correctly?

Realized i'm probably gonna have to get a car charger to effectively use the bluetooth on my phone. It really kills the battery.

Performance: How the hell am i supposed to tell how fast i'm going? If i don't check the speedometer constantly, there's gonna be speeding tickets papering my walls.

Handling - responds well, no good country roads yet....this weekend if no snow.

Controls - so far i like the placement of everything, still don't know what half of them do.

I don't like the lumbar control. not that i'll use it much, but couldn't they make that automatic?

Interior lighting and gauges - I love the look of the interior of the TSX, especially at night. The displays and the interior lighting are great. The map lights are strong which is super. (have to steal this from Excited, agree completely)

I can't wait until this weekend to use it more. The only complaint i have, and this isn't the cars fault....we live near manhattan. so anytime we do resteraunt searches, i wish we coulc exclude manhattan, since it's technically the closest to our home, but we don't want to drive into manhattan. it would be great if we could exclude certain cities. (maybe we can and we don't know it?)

initial pics:

she's happier than she looks, caught her off guard, and we were very tired by now. already put on about 60 miles.

Everyone, I had a great experience at Open Road in Wayne, NJ. Springfield can stick it up their $%^.

Will have much more pics in the near future. We gotta pick up the all season mats, trunk tray, and cargo net still. The hooks for the net are already in the trunk, doesn't look like any install is required!

edit:

Forgot this part!

Sports Shift: One of the most unfullfilling features i've ever used in a car. It might be useful for speed burts on the highway, but i won't be testing that yet. It's pretty lame in my opinion to use on a regular basis. Doesn't even remotely simulate a Manual.

Agreed about the lack of power lumbar and the sportshift.
My first comment about the sportshift to the salesman was the delay in which it shifted.
I quickly went back to full-auto mode after that.
Fortunately, mine will be the 6 speed manual version (they didn't have any manual testers).

If you don't mind, what kind of deal did you get at Open Road Wayne?
I bought from Open Road East Brunswick.

Hey BradyKP, specifically with the interior pics request, can you take a pic that includes the leather seats and the dash so I can see the contrast. Also, did you get navi or no navi?

Open Road in Wayne gave me 28,200 (to beat another quote) and then tacked on the $298 doc fee (tax and registration also). I was stupid though, completely forgot to ask for the accessories i wanted at the time of purchase. now i'll probably be paying full price for them. anyone wanna buy an extra set of all season mats, trunk tray, and cargo net for me?

Nice, deal was about the same as mine but they "threw in" splash guard, wheel locks and all season mats.

Check ebay seller "acuradeals" for good prices on TSX accessories. They're actually Curry Acura in nearby Westchester and they allow local pickup, or combined shipping if you buy multiple items.

Did you get the special financing rate? I think APR was 2.9%.

Hmm... he unofficially quoted me 2.9% last night, but I'm paying cash so it didn't matter to me either way.

Oooooooo......that is NIIIICE. Good photos and thanks for taking them!!

The dark dash really complements the parchment leather. I don't usually like light interiors but I have to say that this changes my opinion. When I get mine in a couple of months it's going to make my colour selection even more difficult.

Once again, congrats and good colour choices.

What about a picture showing a wide angle of the dash? Maybe sit in the back seat and take a picture. I love the color and the little I saw of the trim, it looked nice. I really would ike to see how the dash looks with the wood, black, and leather. When you get a chance to take more pictures, could you try and get a picture like that?

another thing.....

the night pics with the flash make the interior look slightly lighter than reality. the day pics will come out MUCH nicer.

i promise as soon as i get a chance.

Thanks for the pictures Brady. The RBP is a hot color, but please stop taking pics because I am starting to question my color selection (ASM/Quartz) and I get the car on Thursday.

those are custom dealer mats that the dealer threw in for free!!!!!!!!!! i'm so excited, don't they look great?

it's sloppy here, so until we get the all seasons, i thought i'd leave the dealer paper in there.

Thanks for posting the pics. I'm looking to buy next spring so I have some time on my hands before I make a purchase. I absolutely love that RBP and I think the parchment interior looks great. I really don't like that "two tone" look on the doors though. Probably a small gripe, but I'd like to get a good look at the ebony interior with RBP as well. Again, thanks for the pics.

ebony interior looks fantastic also.

as for the two tone: i didn't like it at first either, but now i really like it.

maybe i'll photo shop it to see what it would look like without two tone, but it grew on me, and i really like it. see it in person.

anyways, daylight pics to come this weekend.

Quick Reply: Finally have my RBP with Parchment, with some preliminary pics and impressions.
