Fancy Boy Mod Of The Year: Custom Altoids Tin

One of my OCD pet peeves is the sound of mint tins sliding around in a glove box or cupholder during significant manuevering. Yes, I'm serious.

Luckily, I'm friends with one of the packaging designers for Altoids, and before I got my TSX, I asked him if he could sneak in a design that would match the color and size of the red felt psuedo-ashtray. Result: the Altoids Sugar-Free Smalls tin.

He matched up the red as close as possible... because it's aluminum the red on the tin is a bit on the purple side, but close enough. More importantly though, the tin fits snugly into the ashtray and never rattles around, with just enough space to finger it out when needed. Huzzah!

The Sugar Free Smalls tin should have already shown up in your town by now, so go cop the hotness.

Dear God.

I'd have to build some kind of mint-feeder device to the tin to make sure there's always 60 mints. Sounds like a challenge...

or you can add a spring to the bottom of every tin so the strips are pushed all the way to the top no matter how much is in there.

engineering ftw
