Ever have those days....

Where you just can't manage a smooth shift. All day yesterday its as if I've never driven a stick before. Each shift was rough, I just couldn't get my feet in sync.

Then this morning I'm as smooth as butter, no bogging whatsoever. Happens to me at least once every few weeks. Not sure if its related to positioning or maybe its just because I can't drive

I totally know what you're sayin', but normally it happens for a few days after I swap in-or-out the winter mats. The mats I use are probably 3/4" thicker than the OEM fabric mats, thus my feet are in slightly different positions than I was used to for the past 5-6 months.

Good thing I had no passengers though.

You know, I've had the car for a couple weeks now (700 miles) and I'm still working on perfecting my shifts. I've driven manuals for 8 years now and this is the first time I've had such a problem. Damn this DBW technology! Grrrr. Sometimes the car is more forgiving, sometimes, no matter how smooth you try, it will just act goofy and bog a little. I sure hope Acura/Honda comes out with a fix for this.

Already did.

And I don't think it related to the DBW. I had the same problems with my GS-R and then Civic.

So its just me then.

It happens to me once a while when I going to rush on 1st and switch to 2nd. Other than that it is smooth at the time. Are you sure you are not wearing your wife's high heel? my wife having problem to shift smooth when she wearing high heel.

Agreed, I have about 600 miles, and I just can't seem to get the 1-2 shift down. Sometimes I do really well, but I just can't seem to duplicate it on a regular basis.

The other thing is I notice I have a problem with public shifting (i.e. shifting with someone else in the car..someone who will notice the shifts not being smooth)

it happened to me in my Integra LS all the time....I always thought it was my shoes that made the difference, but it would happen sometimes regardless of the day's chosen footwear.

I like how your sig lists a number next to your TSX's like they're ITR's.

As far as the tranny / shifting goes, I have days where the POS Michelins screech upon ANY load placed on them. They're the loudest / worst tires I've had since my days with Goodyear Invicta's on my ol' Eclipse GS.

in my experience, shoes are usually the culprit.

I still can't drive smoothly! I'm still having difficult getting it down. I drove my frined's rsx, 350z, and civic and it wasnt difficult as tsx. I read on the forum somewhere saying that tsx is one of the hardest car to drive pefectly! is this correct?

^^. I always drive with the same shoes on, but if I am wearing a different pair,..........it throws me off. Going to be a problem because my shoes are worn out now,.....and I have to start using my new ones. Ill get used to them though. I would say once in a blue moon I have an off day with shifting. On multiple occasioins ppl have commented that they didnt realize my car was a MT, because of my smooth shifts .

YES.....I had to start wearing safety shoes at work in the past couple weeks and I've noticed a change in clutch feel that is affecting my shifts!
