Entrance to highway

How much throttle do you guys use to get on the highway? For me, it's WOT just to catch up to speed. Especially if you live around me...that darn Sheepshead Bay entrance.

Never thought about this... enough throttle to accelerate to the right speed, and not too much not to get too much speed???

i accelerate slow......freeway ramps kill gas fast. i dont even see the point of wot, your just casusing more wear and wasting a lot more gas. most people are considerate about onramp merges anyways....they understand it takes a while to pick up speed.

but then again it really depends on the situation...at sometimes you are forced to give it a lot of gas because you dont want people approaching you really fast and having then to brake hard for you...but 75% of the time i take my sweet time

i think that you really need to press on full throttle in some NY HW enterance since they have some really short ramps, but i am living in Philly, to get on 95 i don't really need to do that

freeway ramps are the only time I go WOT. Otherwise, I don't hear my CAI at all.

So, it was your driving that causes the poor gas mileage.

I need about 5000rpm in 3rd gear (automatic) to hit 65 before merging. It's rather effortless for this 4 banger.

I never need to go WOT throttle to merge, but I have been lately just to hear the CAI.

Nonetheless, with nearly all city driving, I still manage around 22-23 mpg.

Kevin got a new CAI?

I never go WOT on merging. That's just wasting gas. Enough speed to just go up the ramp at a steady pace.

I only use WOT on an on-ramp if there's no one around, just to hear the nice sounds of the K24A2...

Nope just the same old Injen. The ramps on some of the entrances on the Belt Parkway are short or none. Unfortunately, I take those ramps =(.

I'm still only averaging 15 miles a gallon. The Acura tech refuses to even check my car. They just tell me it's my intake. What bull! Anyone an Acura tech that wants to see what's up with my car? Preferably, in Brooklyn please =].

you can always buy the stock intake, put it back in, drive it for a while and if you're still getting crappy mileage, take it to another dealer.

I go WOT if no one is around and conditions are good etc. Gotta stretch its legs every now and then right. Otherwise, I think I use maybe 75% throttle to get up to speed and merge. Also depends how long the merge is,....some of them are darn short, and at times ppl DONT want to let you in.

Depends on my mood. I can usually match freeway traffic at about 1/2 throttle on the on-ramp I mostly use. But, sometimes I go WOT just to hear the intake.

Highway on-ramp = foot to floor only stopping to shift gears

With the TSX, I live for on-ramps, gas mileage be damned. I hammer them whenever I can. There's a sweet downhill, decreasing radius ramp near my house that I love. The TSX was built for those things. About the only thing that holds me up is slow-ass drivers
