Has anyone added the factory option of the flip down back TV screen?

We bought our 2007 TSX in June and have a 4 month old. Our car doesn't have NAVI...

Didn't know if we could still get it since it doesnt have NAV or if people think its worth it to entertain their kids sitting in the back for the price.

Our buddies have it in their Minivan and their kids love watching their movies and it keeps them quiet.

I know you can go to HandA-accessories, but it only lists the DVD system for 04-05 because something changed in the head units. Talk to your stealership and see if you can even get it. I'm not seeing it as an accessory for the car on Acura's Build and Price.

you might have to get a custom one done, like head rest monitors. It will run you about the same cost as the OEM version (which again, I don't think works in your model year).

I use a tablet DVD player that hangs off the head rest, 7" monitor, so it is big enough. Whatever you invest in make sure you thorough check the place out because if they're gonna hack into your car, you wanna make sure it is quality. Oh yeah, pick up a second set of head rests incase you sell the car down the road and want to put it back to OEM.

Headrest monitors FTW.

A mere $100 - $250 will get you a DVD player to strap to the headrest. The "tablet" style that moda is referring to is a huge plus (look for Polaroid, for example). The screen rotates around and folds flat against the base, so the base doesnt stick out towards the kids like the keyboard of a laptop computer. You can even get two players, so the kids don't have to fight about what to watch or what games to play. Two little-known disadvantages of ceiling mounted screens - they block the rearview mirror, and the kiddies have to crane their necks up and sideways to watch them as if they were sitting at the ends of the first row of a movie theater.

The Acura DVD system starts at $1200 and you still have to add labor to install:

You will never get that back when you sell the car (maybe $250-$350 at trade-in).

I borrow my nephew's Panasonic portable DVD player (he paid about $150) and purchased noise cancelling headphones from eBay. It keeps my 9 year old son busy for hours. Listening to "I'm bored" and "Are we almost there?" will drive you insane after a few hours if you don't have a DVD player.

Hey this is GREAT advice! I'll have to research the DVD players your talking about.

What models do you have? Never heard of tablet DVD players.

thanks!
