Don't you just LOVE the sound of a TSX w/ CAI in a tunnel?

I'm making a habit out of riding the TSX at about 4500 RPMs before entering a tunnel. Upon entering, I make it a point to roll down both windows while mashing the gas pedal to the floor in order to hear the resonating sound of the CAI w/ hondata.

It's one of the best sounds in the world. Music to my ears. Even my wife love the sound and tells me to "get ready" upon entering a tunnel or underneath a bridge.

On a simlar note, I'm sure the Hondatified / CAI owners could relate to this experience: Anytime you enter VTEC at WOT, whether under a bridge or not, you notice that any pedestrians walking nearby get scared and immediately turn around. It's become clockwork lately. Last weekend, while taking the wifey for a spin, I said to her, "Hey, check this out." I punched it and one of the guys walking on the sidewalk nearly jumped out of his shoes.

Try it if you haven't already. The look on their faces is priceless.....

What kind of intake are you running with your supercharger?

I thought you had the CAI on?

Nope I'm running the Comptech Icebox for low end power and less noise. Helps keeps my TSX as a sleeper

I have an Injen CAI intake too though. I'll probably experiment with putting it on soon. The CAI is really loud, I remember a lot of people moving out the way on the freeway when I use to have it on.

When you get on it on the highway people def move out of the way haha

One time driving next to some guy at night on a 2 lane road i punched it to pass him. My friend started to crack up. i was like what?! He told me the guy next to me nearly jumped out of his seat hahaha

vtec does sound nice, but the ultimate 4 cylinder music is the mean, low rumbling of a boxer 4 through a tuned exhaust, with the occasional spooling of a turbo.. gotta love them subarus too

It is really addicting to go WOT and hear it roar.

Although its probably not too smart to do it where cops are near. haha

I agree Though I had an non-turbo old skool RS. With just a magnaflow muffler and a shortest of intake (my then 13yo cut the stock airbox to just an elbow, put a cone filter on and took the blocking plate of from under then non-functioning hood scoop to make it functional - a mod he saw on a message board) the low grunt of a boxer motor was a blast.

I am liking the sound made in the upper rpm's with the TSX though And hey, I'm old... LOL. Sooner or later, I'll probably add an icebox under the hood...

Matt -

PS: Pittsburgh has a few long tunnels and I've done the exact same thing

I know I don't have a TSX, but I recently acquired an 01 'Lude, and slapped on an AEM V2 and Mugen exhaust .... and I must say - VTEC in this car sounds BEAUTIFUL!! The VTEC on the CL-S was definitely nice, but nothing like this I'm sure you guys are loving it

Love that sound!! There's a road that cuts through downtown Philly (Vine St. expy, for all yous locals) that is the best for this. It's about a mile of underpass driving. Everytime I merge on I have to hear that sound with the windows open. The problem is I'm doing 90 before I'm half way down the road!

Hmmm, I haven't tried WOT in a tunnel yet. Now I look forward to it. I haven't heard the Injen first hand (only sound clips) but my Icebox+hondata does make a nice mean sound. (and its almost stock like when put putting around town).

Though I love the sound with my CAI, I do feel bad for those people who almost poo their pants. (I am sometimes one of those people walking to Chinatown from downtown SF)

But secretly, seeing people jump is hilarious , just sucks when its me, haha
