I was wondering if anyone has managed to hook up a backup camera to an 08 navi head unit. The instructions I have are for the older head units and so the plugs don't mach

 

When you say head unit, are you talking about the radio, or are you talking about the navigation unit in the trunk? The camera connects to the navigation unit, not the radio.

As for older head units, the 04/05 navi systems can't accept backup cameras. The instructions are for 06 to 08, which are the same.

as said above, nothing hooks to the head unit.
it just plugs into the back of the DVD unit in the trunk.
power is taken from the reverse lights, so the camera comes on only
while in reverse (while the reverse lights are lit).
works perfect.

 

DOH!!

I looked the the instructions I found in the Audio Video section and the pics showed the back of what I thought was the back of the radio. I will go have a look at the back of the nav unit in the trunk.
